I owned a 2019 TRD Pro previous to my R1T. The trucks sell on their reputation. They are primitive however with rear leaf springs, rear drum brakes, etc.
Toyota is a conservative company. The 2024 Tacoma styling will simply be an evolution of the current truck that still sells like hot cakes.
It’s unlike the new WRX redesign that has seen sales take a nosedive due to the ugly black plastic cladding around the wheel wells and a barely noticeable...
I purchased a new 1500 Silverado in 2008. It was making a hell of a noise from the front end when I went around corners. It turns out the upper shock mount bolt was never installed at the factory.
Whenever humans are involved with assembling a product mistakes occasionally happen. Assembly line workers are given a target time to complete a task and minds wander. Sadly there is no such thing as a 100% perfect vehicle.
I was wondering the same. I recently swapped 20” Rivian alloy wheels, AT’s to dark, and was wondering if there is a way to update the graphic on the dash.
My truck is currently in the SC to resolve some body panel alignment issues and to look into excessive vampire battery drain. I will report back and see if Rivian calls it “within spec” or has a fix for the issue. I suspect nothing will be done until another software update is released.
R1T: Save money on maintenance and fuel but tires wear out faster because it’s a heavy 3.5 ton pickup truck. Consistently drive it in Conserve mode (FWD) and your front tires will wear out faster than the rear.
I went with the 1/2” thick Black Armour utility mat. You need to measure and cut it to fit as the Rivian is not listed yet. The mat is super HD and very heavy.

Looks OEM!!! Great job repurposing a used Lomax hard tonneau cover.
I had the exact same Lomax cover on my Tacoma and sold it before I got rid of the vehicle. It may have worked on my R1T with some modifications similar to yours.
I’m going to kick myself for selling it if the upcoming Rivian...
I would be willing to pay for that creative solution.
Does anybody know how much electricity could be generated per day with a 4' x 4.5' solar panel(s) bed cover? My guess is about 1-2 kWh per day.
I know a hemispherical solar roof will be optional on higher end trims of the upcoming Fisker...
