My first charging experience using the R1T navigation had me pull into a station at a burger place. It had 2 electric chargers and the first one I tried didn't function. Luckily the 2nd one worked.
The hodgepodge of nationwide charging stations is a PITA. The Tesla proprietary Supercharging network has us spoiled from driving our Model Y. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it coast to coast.
I believe this is the reason behind the manual tonneau cover delay. They are designing and engineering the cover to be multipurpose and avoid a powered tonneau fiasco.
