The way I understand the $7500 Federal Tax credit. Tax professionals please chime in and correct me if I am wrong;
-If you owe $10,000 in federal tax you pay $2500.
-If you owe $7500 in federal tax you pay nothing.
-If you owe $2500 in federal tax you pay nothing but you forfeit the $5000 balance.
We paid $49,990 for our 2021 Model Y Long Range before the long string of price increases started to happen.
January and February are typically slow months for new car sales. The price drops are significant enough that Tesla is now undercutting many other new EVs coming from the competition.
Tesla just increased demand and squashed the BEV competition.
They have the demand dial down to a science. Super high demand? Turn the dial up and raise the price. A dip in sales? Turn the knob down and lower the MSRP. Tesla assembly plants can continue to run at full tilt without any layoffs.
I thought I would share this handy internet table for fellow R1T owners;
The voltage of a 12v battery is a good way to determine the state of charge. Here's a handy table with the breakdown:
State of Charge Voltage
100%: = 12.7 - 13.2v
75% = 12.4v
50% = 12.2v
25% = 12.0v
Discharged = 0 -...
Customer satisfaction and word of mouth go down the toilet if a new owner has issues and has to drive hundreds of miles to a service center. I totally understand Rivian’s position.
My guess is that the paint robots totally missed the hinges. Rivian thought that attacking this unpainted area with a paint brush was an acceptable repair on a $75k vehicle? They didn’t even bother to mask off the weatherstripping.
I suspect the real reason is that they want to vertically integrate electric motor production. I imagine the goal is to eventually push Bosch electric motors out of all Rivian products.
Absolutely not. I would have waited for the upcoming Cybertruck.
Rivian must have had a TON of R1T cancellations before they decided to reverse the price increase decision last year.
Rivian leadership has been blessed by the constant delays of the Tesla Cybertruck.
Later in 2023 they we will see the pickup competitor, the Cybertruck, if everything stays on schedule.
Rivian’s pricing structure may be in serious trouble if the CT aggressively undercuts the R1T in pricing...
