I think freshly lowered Tesla Model X pricing ($79,990) that also qualifies for the $7500 tax credit may be giving R1S sales a new challenge in the BEV SUV space.
After reading many reviews on the manual cover over I have two observations:
-$800 = a good value w/5-year warranty
-$1800 = WAY overpriced at $450 per panel
I prefer the Model X at the new price point. I love the egg shaped exterior and am a big fan of the minimalist interior, especially in white ($2k).
Tesla will be around in 5-years. Rivian? Nobody knows. If the upcoming R2 isn’t a home run the prospects are sketchy.

The $10k up-charge for the Max Pack over the Large Pack, 410 vs. 352 miles with 21” tires, doesn’t seem to be a great value. A Max Pack buyer is only getting an extra 62 miles for $10k.
I am highly, highly skeptical of that “leaked” Tesla e-mail.
A human hair is 70 microns thick. To demand less than 10 micron accuracy is unheard of in the automotive industry. I call BS on this one.
He had a similar dash warping issue on one of SUV's. The dealership ordered and installed a brand new dash even though the warranty had expired on the truck.
I think all of the current SC’s are swamped now. The tech’s are most likely pressured to push repaired vehicles out the door ASAP and buyers aren’t getting the caliber of service that a $90k vehicle deserves.
They need to copy Lexus service, one of the best in the car biz. They really don’t...
I am currently on the Big Island until Friday. Saw a green R1T driving around Kona and had to do a double take. The nearest service center is thousands of miles away.
You can’t beat the luxury, great smell or quality of real leather in an automobile interior.
The word “Vegan Leather“ is simply a marketing term for vinyl seats.
RWS, 48 volt electrical architecture and auto popping doors on approach (Tesla eliminated door handles) are some cool features that are supposed to be incorporated.
Steer-by-wire is also rumored to be coming.
Tesla incorporated the federally mandated 3rd brake light in a clever way. View the...
Even with all of the software updates I’m STILL losing 4 miles a day to vampire battery drain when sitting idle. The battery drain is identical to when I purchased it new?
Nearing 2 million Cybertruck reservations. Tesla is reportedly receiving 1,000 reservations per day.
As Elon stated, Cybertruck demand is so far off the hook that you can’t even see the hook.
