The Cybertruck's SS alloy is supposed to be very close to what is used on the Space X Starship.
I'm confident a SS care and maintenance section will be included in the Cybertruck owners manual.
The Cybertruck is still missing three essentials: New MSRP's, trim levels and specifications.
Rumor is the huge announcement is coming towards the end of September. Reservation holders have been sitting on pins and needles ever since Tesla deleted the MSRP's from the Cybertruck's website...
To all of the CT naysayers I can tell you this. I have seen the Cybertruck concept in the flesh and it looks WAY better in person. I mean WAAAAAAAY better. Don't let the 2D photos and videos initially steer you into the ugly, revolting, SS door stop, designed by an 8-year old, etc. camp.
After...
The stamped steel lower control arms are most likely a cost cutting move by Tesla to help lower production costs.
Tesla is rumored to be hiding all of the completed Release Candidate (RC) Cybertruck’s inside the assembly building.
Agreed. The 20” dark wheels alone were $3500 and did NOT include a spare tire.
The new package is now a bargain at $3850 for the 20" All-Terrain wheels, underbody protection and matching spare tire.
Here is a video frame of a Cybertruck RC (Release Candidate) that was being transported recently in a trailer.
I would guess that the SS quarter panel is roughly 2mm thick (thickness of a nickel).
Loophole…Tribal land
I fully understand the business decision. Driving hours and hours to a Rivian SC would result in poor customer vehicle satisfaction.
The reason behind the lower warranty is marketing 101, upselling. It will make buyers think twice before pulling the trigger on the Dual Motor and switch to the premium Quad Motor.
My main point was at $73k the Quad Motor/Large battery pack was a great value. It offered a lot of bang for the buck and why I ended up purchasing one. IMO the value proposition has pretty much disappeared at the new $90k+ price point.
I am curious. Are there any pre-price hike R1T reservation...
Great “RJ special” color combination. It should sell quick at $74k. The 20” dark wheels look better than the 22“ Sport Brights that originally came on the truck.
The styling is definitely polarizing.
I’m more fascinated by what’s under the skin. The BIW has a front and rear aluminum Giga casting attached. The rear Giga casting then has 6 more aluminum castings attached to it.
Note the open floor for the 4680 structural battery pack
BIW with front and...
I thought I would write a few comments regarding the R1T’s future competitor in the BEV pickup segment.
I have seen the concept Cybertruck in the flesh. I walked around it for a full 30 minutes while it was on display at the Peterson Museum.
It’s hard to describe the trucks styling in words...
Spartan is an understatement. The only physical controls will be the accelerator, brake, steering wheel and 18” display. The turn signals and wipers appear to be controlled by buttons on the steering wheel.
