    Sounds normal to me. If you go from highest setting and lower vehicle you can hear the air being released as well.

    Sounds like your crossbars need adjustment to remove the slop. I marked mine under the lever with a paint marker as well so that I always install same direction and location.

    No way to tell strength of charge by taste. But you can test to see how spicy the electron sauce is and rate it like a salsa mild = 12v or under with ghost pepper = 400v or above (caution you may become a ghost).
