This has been my roadblock - I've tried fusion 360 and FreeCAD so far; the learning curve on FreeCAD is ridiculous and a graphics driver update broke fusion... I'm getting extraordinarily frustrated with the endeavor.
There was a while where there was a bunch of miscellaneous stuff people were designing and putting out on Thingiverse for 3d printing and I've noticed they've since disappeared. Are Rivian lawyers ordering takedowns or something? I thought it was rather curious that they're 100% gone from...
I'm really jealous of your proximity to charging, soon-to-be RAN, and (planned) open Tesla chargers...
Down here in Tucson it's a struggle to explore the far south east corner.
1 (!) Not-so-reliable EA station in Benson. Thaaat's it.
East of sahuarita is a charging wasteland and also really...
Tire shop guy in previous life here - find a place that will patch not plug. Plugs are the quick and dirty fix that may or may not last.
Patches are the right way to do it.
But hey, a plug could also last for the life of the tire.
Did you get the full size spare? If so, use the included...
I've got just over 10k and I expect another 10-15, probably.
Side note: I had to replace one and it was really hard to source without going to the SC. Apparently it's a $600 tire.
Even the Pirelli reps couldn't figure out that they even sold the tire but my tire shop eventually found one
We moved all EV with an R1T last May and a '22 Mach E in August. Love them both for different reasons and haven't looked back. The R1T is the road tripper and adventure mobile, while the Mach E is the city car.
For that reason we just got the standard battery in the Mach E and we're wishing we...
I have both the R1T and the Mach E and have thoughts on both.
I'm not surprised it scored well, but the ease of use!? Rivian's easy and brainless to engage but blue cruise? It took me several minutes, manual searching, and experimentation to figure it out. At first I thought I was the idiot...
pixel 6 pro here
it works 100% of the time
Guts say 72.93% of the time it's finicky, though. Either requiring a long wait, a bluetooth off/on toggle, or a full phone reboot.
never had it actually totally fail, though.
Pretty sure it's a Google problem as it's persisted across my 4a AND 6 pro...
5xxx vin here, glad to know I'm not the only crazy one. Also have front half shaft movement by hand.
I'm in the "not going to worry about it unless it's a problem" camp, yet it really bugs me.
Was also told it's "normal"
Also have a sinking front end overnight but it's not consistent enough...
Short answer is no, but not because of perceived value or anything.
We have the money, we have the need, we don't have the drive to buy new experience vehicles if we don't have to. Hell, this is our first brand new vehicle. New vehicles just don't have a good value proposition for us.
We broke...
But at the end of the day I still use Paak...
Because the benefit of not having to carry keys or key card is a game changer despite the downsides of Bluetooth.
I was a bit worried about technology failure, initially, but it always works when at it's worst with a little fuss.
At it's best is...
This has pretty much been every day since getting it and has persisted across two different phones (pixel 4a and now pixel 6 pro)
The fix is to toggle my Bluetooth off and on. Occasionally reboot phone.
I chalk it up to Google and Bluetooth rather than Rivian... I have a similar problem with...
To chime in and echo sentiments - deet-based insect repellent will do this 100% of the time. It will dissolve any plastic/based material, including vinyl camping equipment, camera grips, synthetic clothing, etc.
Happened to my 1991 bmw, and is common on German interiors with similar finishes. I...
I'm my case I already did that by way of a whole new phone. And then did it again on the new phone.
This has stretched across two phones for me.
Here's hoping an update fixes something!
Late addition, here
I had a pixel 4a and the PaaK worked more-or-less "okay."
But then it started doing exactly this. I use proximity unlock, it unlocks as I approach the vehicle, the audio pairs and starts playing, and then it prompts me to present a key to drive.
Then I got a new phone -...
Ours is also Rosie of the same namesake. My kids decided on a feminine gender so I figured a lady showing up in the world of toxic masculinity, doing it better, and with more class can only be the one and only Rosie the Riveter... Er.. Rivian
Sorry - to be more specific - it lives on a table. I used it today and found the burn spot.
While driving it just lives on my console so I have no clue if it slid around with the phone.
Side note: I rarely get wireless charging to work, anyway
