  1. Rivian Care now extended to 6 states as of 6/2 -- CO/GA/IL/NY/OR/TX

Yeah, I don't see any way to actually sign up. The page says to log in to your account, go to the Rivian Care page, and "express your interest" - the only thing I see is a "notify me when it's available in my state". Even though it supposedly IS now available in my state.
  2. Remote Entry?

Which means this update won't ever come to pre-2025 vehicles. They can't break the primary key for all older vehicles.
  3. R1T Trade in Value vs R2 Performance Price

It's also my understanding that Rivian always assumes the vehicle isn't in good shape, and will increase the offer upon physically seeing the vehicle. But trade-ins will always be less than private party or even selling to one of the big used chains.
  4. Annoying hands free issue

Tesla FSD *STILL* does this. Just not as often as it used to.
  5. Range question for gen 1 2024 R1S quad

Not on a Quad with the off-road package. All Purpose is 270. Even R1S on the 21" "highest range" wheels quad was only rated for 321.
  6. 500-800 miles from Service Center......from those with Rivian experience....how risky will this be?

Warranty work - especially for an issue that has the vehicle underivable, they absolutely will cover towing costs.
  7. Wassym Bensaid DECODER interview: AI Rivian Assistant, Apple CarPlay, VW Joint Venture

No. Not trolls. Just people who like physical controls for certain things. I'm not a "no touchscreens, all physical controls" person. I even think the screen-control-only HVAC vents are "fine" since they now save positions with profiles so you can easily switch between modes. But when...
  8. 500-800 miles from Service Center......from those with Rivian experience....how risky will this be?

They do also have mobile service that can perform many fixes.
  9. Wassym Bensaid DECODER interview: AI Rivian Assistant, Apple CarPlay, VW Joint Venture

The "physical button" for volume is a scroll wheel only accessible to the driver. A software button being on the screen in a fixed place still requires looking at the screen to verify your finger is going to activate it. (And it can't be activated while you're in reverse with the reverse camera...
  10. Wassym Bensaid DECODER interview: AI Rivian Assistant, Apple CarPlay, VW Joint Venture

I don't even mind the "no CarPlay". Sure, I'd rather have the choice, but whatever, it's their decision, and Rivian's system is "good enough." But to so bald-face lie about the reason is ridiculous. Just admit they are unwilling to give up *ANY* control combined with Connect+ money as the real...
  11. Wassym Bensaid DECODER interview: AI Rivian Assistant, Apple CarPlay, VW Joint Venture

Voice is *TERRIBLE* when driving. Sure, in some situations it may be "fine." But if you're in a car full of noisy kids, there isn't a quiet moment for the voice recognition to isolate you properly. If you just want to turn on the defroster, or adjust the volume up and down, having to interrupt...
  12. 100 years later- look closely-not AI

Heck, a couple days after I took delivery in 2022, I was in a parking lot, and this fine fellow pulled in next to me to get a picture of his "old" with my "new". (I was pulling out of the parking spot when he started waving at me, wanting me to park again to get the photo.)
  13. Frunk Lid Gone Crazy

Is there anything in the frunk that may be pressing the emergency release button? Although if the outside release button worked once, then not again, that does make me think that button may have a fault, and it's registering as being pressed over and over.
  14. Judge Approves $250M Rivian investor settlement, awards $60M in fees

Look into big corporate class actions. Quite often the "class representatives" are such for *MULTIPLE* class actions. Frequently they're friends or family members of lawyers. One law firm has a literal "recruiting page" for class representatives. Not "do you have a case you think should be a...
  15. Judge Approves $250M Rivian investor settlement, awards $60M in fees

Only 24% to the lawyers? That actually feels a bit low. I wonder how much the class representatives got? (In a class action, the individuals who are the "first named people filing on behalf of everyone" usually get a lot more than the class in general.)
  16. Judge Approves $250M Rivian investor settlement, awards $60M in fees

That's why you have to leave the tags on the mattress.
  17. Changing Tires?

In R1, there are options to do that. For example, mine shipped with the 275/65R20 all-terrain tires. But I have put 275/60R20 all season tires on, so I told the system that's what I have, and it recalculates appropriately. I haven't seen any R2 reviews that go over this option, but presumably...

  20. In the world of Luce, The Rivian R3X could shine

Can we *NOT* spam an AI written article full of AI generated images to the forum about a competitor that is as "competitor" as a Honda dirt bike is to a Ducati?
