  1. Battery Report after 3 years / 50K miles (R1S Launch Edition)

Edit: Never mind, found it! Edit: For those who - like I - didn't know where to find it: First you have to enable Live Data Connection between ABRP and your Rivian account. Then click the "Live Data" link: (Gen 1 Large pack - only 2% degradation in ~4 years, 32k miles. Not bad!) Where on...
  2. Battery Report after 3 years / 50K miles (R1S Launch Edition)

Launch Edition (Gen 1 Quad-Large,) when shipped with 20" wheels, was EPA rated ~270 miles. A software update increased the range - TeslaFi is using that increased range as the "base."
  3. R2 vs midsize SUV- need by June

Unless you put in your preorder before the R2 reveal event even started (the page went live about a minute before the event started) and live in an area they're doing the earliest deliveries, there is zero chance your'e getting an R2 in June.
  4. Does the R2 have a dedicated satellite radio antenna?

While I never subscribed to Sirius or XM (or SiriusXM) I do see the use in places with terrible cell reception. I've done a few road trips in the Western US where I've lost cellular for hours at a time. If that was something I did in those areas regularly, I'd probably pay for satellite if my...
  5. Portable charger and adapters will only be free in certain states (for R2).....

Interesting. There's nothing in the CARB EV rules that require this. Plenty of other EV makers don't provide these to buyers in CARB states. I wonder what's going on? Maybe they have a "sell CARB credits" deal with a few legacy automakers so they assume they'll sell a lot more vehicles in CARB...
  6. Compact Spare Tire for R2 priced at $755

Obviously you know the answer to that.
  7. 2027 R1T

I'm still waiting for the 2020 Tesla Roadster… 😁 (Hell, if it even takes Slate another 24 months to start shipping their pickup, they'll have founded a vehicle manufacturer from scratch, fully designed, prototyped, and built a production line in less time than the delay from the Roadster's...
  8. 2027 R1T

My guess would be 2027. Almost certainly no major changes, so no reason to release it before the year itself.
  9. Need confirmation of 3rd party internet connectivity

I've been to campgrounds that have campground-provided WiFi (usually paid, usually terrible) where there is zero cellular reception.
  10. Can we add a different audiobook platform to Rivian?

If you want to use the car's cellular connection, yes, you need to pay Rivian for that cellular connection. You can connect to a WiFi hotspot (such as your phone) and/or just use Bluetooth from your phone, using whatever app on your phone you want.
  11. What’s Coming in 2026.15 Update, Including Rivian Assistant

Yeah, I'd love to know what voice features are available without a Connect+. Hopefully it won't be like the current/previous one where if you ask it something it can't do, Alexa complains it doesn't have internet.
  12. What’s Coming in 2026.15 Update, Including Rivian Assistant

All I have to say is that "basic vehicle functionality" had better work better than now on Gen 1 - without needing a Connect+ subscription. I should be able to do basic tasks like change temp, change audio source, even set a navigation destination that doesn't require extra internet lookup (by...
  13. Winter Range Effects in Midwest

Oooh, you have the big (okay, medium) battery model! I wish they'd have done one more year, with one more battery capacity increase. I likely would have gotten one of those instead of another Model S.
  14. Winter Range Effects in Midwest

I had the REx model for my wife's range anxiety for her commute, but when I drove it, I never used it.
  15. More R2 models coming and R2X possible says RJ Scaringe (Reuters News)

Uh, Maverick is bigger than Santa Fe. Just barely, but bigger.
  16. More R2 models coming and R2X possible says RJ Scaringe (Reuters News)

Gimme a Maverick/Santa Cruz sized pickup with a ≥4.5' bed that can tow my 4500 pound teardrop ~100 miles between 10-80 recharges, and I will trade my R1T in for it immediately. It can be an "extended cab" (super cramped back seats that are just big enough for the dog) instead of a proper "club...
  17. EDV offroads and self recovers 😆

Some serious pucker-factor there at that angle in such a tall vehicle!
  18. Winter Range Effects in Midwest

Even in the worst possible conditions, 120 miles should be perfectly doable even on a standard battery. As others have said, if you have the ability to park in a garage and plug in at one end or the other, you'll absolutely be fine with "schedule departure" enabled to use wall power to prepare...
  19. Confirmed: Voice recognition local processing for R1 (Gen 1 and Gen 2). The R2 will have a local LLM.

My 2016 would disagree with you. As would tons of public documentation showing that Tesla discontinued it in 2018.
