Does anyone know what might cause steering wheel vibration and sloppiness at low speeds (<40mph)?
I have this. Truck seems to do better at >45mph. Alignment doesn't seem to be an issue at all.
Hang in there a bit on the audio. I had a Gen1 with the in-house elevation system, and now have a Gen2 with the upgraded audio. I can say that they made improvements over my 19 months of ownership through OTA updates. By the end with my Gen1, the sound was more clear and balanced...overall...
More of a working theory I'm testing out. I just switched out to the OEM 20" ATs to see if that helps slow the process. My first 1000 miles were glorious with this Gen2. Since then I noticed a steep decline in ride quality (more harshness/jarring), increase in suspension noise (rattling and...
Do you have the 22" wheels?
Totally agree on this halfshaft. It's way more that just a noise. It makes the whole vehicle feel sloppy and like its about to fall apart. Super harsh, too.
I still have intermittent harshness. I even switched my 22s out for the OEM 20" ATs. I expected a better ride over uneven roads with the better sidewall. No change. Crazy.
With only 1800 miles on my Gen2, it already feels less solid driving it. It's harsh, rattly, and more sloppy/shaky in...
High suspension under hard acceleration will do that. Seattle SC just said to not be in high. I had all kinds of suspension rattle in my Gen1. My Gen2 is already developing the same after only 1000 miles of driving it. I think its mechanical in nature (halfshafts, hubs/knuckle, etc.) but I...
Nice. I am actually picking up some 20s tomorrow and will probable trade them out in the next week. Would be willing to sell by next weekend, most likely. Wheels till in perfect condition w/1600 miles on the truck.
Got the update, reset my EQ, made some adjustments, and had a long listen. To me, the soundstage feels more balanced. Low end is cleaned up a bit. Still some clipping in the mid bass frequencies, but not as bad as before.
General impression: Sound is improved, but still a long way to go to...
It would be totally great if, at some point in the future, we had a master database on here of all known wheel/tire combinations and the Rivian UI selection that most accurately calcs range, speed, etc.
