Sorry to hear about your 12V issues and the failed update. On 51.02 here for my 2023 R1T Gen 1 Quad. No issues with install. On a 2 months old 12V battery myself.

Nice to meet you too! I got the one Rivian sells in the gear shop. Comes with a bag and fits inside the gear tunnel (as a 2nd floor) when not in use.

Good point. I came at it from my out of region thinking. Outside the US (and maybe CANADA) there is no free service.

Definitely amazing. Remember the days I got the Model S P100D a few years back. My Gen 1 Quad, definitely does not have that punch from a standstill but I am every day amazed with how much ease it too pulls away from almost anything on the road. Love it.

That’s a bit concerning. I have had several charger stops that the Rivian nav did not recognize as such and did not precondition the battery for. With no way to manually pre-condition, what does one do in that case?

Did not see that on 53.01 and 53.02. On mine it went straight to 10kW charging at midnight.

I bet they are working hard on hardening the Gen2 and make it way more reliable. I expect the next 2-3 years to be very incremental on the HW platform side. Ironing out all the little (and larger) kinks.

Absolutely can BUT a few things that will get in the way for some: When you leave the car e.g. during a charging session you will most likely take your phone with you. That means you wont see the charging updates or any related alerts. On a road trip while staying at a random hotel you wont...

Yes I had one of the stronger synologys for a while. Definitely strong enough but always some weird side effects with its docker versions and lack of addon support. that makes upgrades more difficult, reboot sequencing an issues and you cannot take a full easy backup of the entire HA system and...

Awesome write up! Being on a later build Gen 1 R1T Quad Adventure, there are a few more things that improved from your list. Blind spot cameras are great for me. Actually better than the ones on the 2024 Model Y we also have. Noise is definitely a tire thing, recently put on brand new 20” OEM...
