It's not an official thing. But towards then end of Gen 1 several changes were made to the vehicle. Most distinctive the single battery setup, updated harness. A bunch of issues seem to have been fixed compared to earlier production runs.
No idea what VIN numbers.
In kneel mode I had this from day 1. But it has never been an issue per se. Now that I stopped using kneel mode it is such a rare occurrence that it’s no longer a thing.
Also learned that storing the vehicle for anything longer than a few days is best done in shipping mode at the lowest ride...
The company that fails to deliver declares it can’t be done.
That is implicitly true.
Otherwise they would be successful.
Large electric vehicles are hard to make work on multiple dimensions.
it seems it’s too hard for some. Sorry but Ford does not yet have what it takes to succeed in this...
Really depends on the scale of the setup.
I have well over 200GB of detailed data captured and in use. Found that a powerful dedicated NUC or similar can reliably handle it and provide a fast user experience.
A word of caution on containers on a NAS. I tried making that work as well on a...
It can definitely be setup on a Mac Mini, just requires some reading up on things.
I did that early on but eventually switched to a dedicated Intel NUC I bought just for that.
Being an electrical engineer I alsways would chat with my go-to electrician about things like these. Always making sure everything was done to code. Might sound extra cautious, but when it came to warranties, issues or god forbid insurance cases, having it done right was worth it for me to spend...
Same for suspension height. Basically anything that is ok to change on the fly it will let you and it will tell you if you need to stop or start doing something (get out of cruise control or put vehicle in drive)
Great write up! Love my Gen 1 Quad as well. Having said so, these quality issues have to stop, if Rivian really wants to grow. The majority of potential owners will look at issues like these and will avoid getting into such a journey.
I truly hope they learn quickly and evolve…
Totally agree! Just those two networks make CA super easy to traverse. Had so many bad experiences at the other networks. So many broken or derated chargers, long lines. Now its just easy. With so many options you can go slow and far or fast and charge more often...
Not arguing that there is temp compensation going on. BUT that would never be a reason for SoC to climb in the first 24h of parking a Rivian, or for it to not loose any charge on day 2.
I am all for temp compensation, but it is at least done incorrectly when it comes to SoC or intentionally to...
Sorry but it’s not mainly temp related. I explicitly checked for that and took all measurements within a garage at steady state temps. While some temp compensation got introduced in .47, .51 did something entirely new. If you let the car sit at constant temp for days you can see that same behavior.
Yes fully aware of that integration. Right now it is limited to simple interactions and not advanced data analysis. Over time this could (probably will) change. But given the privacy focus of HA, developers are hesitant to open up your personal HA data store to AI in general.
