  1. RAN Rivian Charging Stations Locations Map via Google Maps

Interesting--this location is not on the Rivian coming soon map. Is this common?
  2. Please stop asking for CarPlay - it’s terrible

I will continue to ask for it and list it as a main complaint when someone asks about my Rivian. The beauty of AA/Carplay is that you don't have to use it if you don't want to. Rivian can continue to develop their own navigation and media stacks while still offering AA/CarPlay--they're not...
  3. Is the VW Scout better than the Rivian?

Production won't start until 2027. I imagine we'll have another refresh, of the R1 by then.

  7. Is Rivian an American Truck and SUV manufacturer? (email from Scout Motors)

Franklin is just down the road from me. It's too bad that it won't be open to the public. Franklin seems random--I'm guessing they thought it would be a bad look to have a fancy event in SC while they're recovering from Helene. I wonder how long it took them to come up with the halfway point...
  8. 2024.39 Software Update Release Notes (Gen1 and Gen2)

The below is guidance specific to EVs, but the same concept applies to gas vehicles. It's possible the Tundra didn't do EPA testing with the auto-start/stop engaged or averaged both modes. Or someone installed an override before you bought it. Or did you have a hybrid...
  9. 2024.39 Software Update Release Notes (Gen1 and Gen2)

It's not a bug. The vehicle must default to the EPA-tested settings to comply with regulation. This is why gas cars re-enable auto-start/stop every time you get in the car, even when you've previously disabled it. Unless you're talking about some other software behavior?
  10. Bi-Directional Charging??? When???

Don't be so sure of that--some of the loudest right-wing skeptics are millennials.
  11. 2024.39 Software Update Release Notes (Gen1 and Gen2)

  14. Tesla SuperCharger Network Continues to Expand (Sept 2024 Status)

These graphics are outdated and are showing several sites that have been removed from Tesla's official maps. For instance, there are only two sites that are still planned or permitted in Nashville and suberbs/exurbs.
  15. 2024 Halloween Theme (Knight Rider KITT Scanner Lights)? I guess it will be forked this year for Gen2 :(

I thought I was the only one that noticed that the video clearly features an old rickety Hasselhoff.
  16. 2024 Halloween Theme (Knight Rider KITT Scanner Lights)? I guess it will be forked this year for Gen2 :(

That would be a great consolation prize for the Gen1'ers. It was infinitely better than the godawful, embarrassing organ.
  17. Gary ornament in Gear Shop

    Where's my Gary Christmas inflatable?
  18. No Cruise Control when pulling a trailer, WTH

Completely agree and this is one of the things I miss most about our Lightning, which did not disable lane centering, automatic cruise control or blind-spot monitoring while towing. Edit: in fact, I can't think of a single driver assistance feature on our Gen 1 R1S that outperforms our...
