  1. R1T Gen1 vs R1S Gen2 impressions

That's the first I've heard of this. I can't think of a technical reason why it wouldn't be compatible if the speaker is cross-compatible.
  2. Update 2024.23 Details (For Gen 2 Rivian)

Trying not to be sore about these forked updates....
  3. NYT: Tesla chief executive’s polarizing statements have alienated some potential customers

Let's not forget the turning point for the advertisers was Musk's principled retweet of a racist and antisemitic post about white replacement theory. Twitter is a cesspool to start with, and it was completely reasonable for advertisers to have the expectation that the Twitter CEO wouldn't...
  4. Rear windshield fluid dripping?

Mine just started doing this, not sure why. Maybe it's related to heat and expansion of the nozzle tube? My washer fluid tank is also low, but I don't know why that would matter.
  5. Rivian Q2 2024 Production & Delivery Numbers Announced

Also the first to get an LFP battery, I think. They seem to be using the EDV/ECV as a test bed for new components, which makes sense.
  6. Gen 1 major ride quality & handling improvement after 2024.19.04 software update - how's your experience?

Agreed--several 1990s-era Mazda Cars had a vent "swing" mode which I thought was awesome at the time. At least the vent presets are another feature that justifies their existence.
  7. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

You are technically correct, but for most people V2L is going to be the same thing as V2H--something they use to power critical loads when the power goes out. In those cases an AC system is going to be sufficient. There are few people who will spend the money for an automatic backup system or...
  8. Rivian preparing in-house V2H charger

It's 100 amps (24,000/240=100). AC output is actually a much more elegant solution since it uses the on-board charger and allows you to use it at camp sites, work sites, etc. Compare that to the DC solution that requires an EVSE box+Inverter box+automatic transfer switch+dark start battery.
  9. RJ Explains: Why Rivian Builds Its Technology In-House

Those forums are also moderated to oblivion, so that's not really proving your point.
  10. RJ Explains: Why Rivian Builds Its Technology In-House

I guarantee that the TeslaMotors mods are killing any CarPlay/Android Auto threads after they're posted.
  11. Investor Day 2024 Live! Gen 2 range figures and other findings

New info about the V2H capability: Rivian will offer a bidirectional charger that will be capable of providing 24 kW output from the R1. Release date TBD R2 will be capable of exporting AC at 11 kW. Will launch with R2 and the R1 ostensibly does not have AC output capability. It's too bad...
  12. Gen2s Missing Onboard Air Compressors

We have the Dewalt equivalent. I don't understand why people get so excited about built-in air compressors. The battery-powered inflators are compact, cheap, work well and don't require dealing with a long hose.
  13. First Wisconsin (Sun Prairie) RAN charging station site now open

It was a lot easier to use before they put up the posts for the for the curbside pickup signs.
  14. Lee Vining RAN Charger Site showing as live!

Lee Vining must be very important based on how many threads have been started about this location.
  15. How I Know Cybertruck Pre-Orders have TANKED on Sales

My neighbor just bought one. They're an instagram fitness/model influencer which pretty much confirms my biases about the people who are buying these things.
  16. Silverado EV off-road statements in the manual

Exactly--24" wheels with short sidewalls and 68 PSI are not designed for off-road use.
  17. Wassym Confirms new features & upgrades for Gen 1 R1T / R1S -- Driver+, Ambient Lighting Themes

This is the link to original reddit thread if you don't want to deal with the (probably) generative AI article in the OP:
  18. Fooling the truck about a trailer being attached so adaptive/Driver+ isn't disabled

Yes the rear motor disconnects automatically depending on load in the default mode. I think it stays connected when a trailer is plugged in.
  19. Heatpump is the biggest upgrade in Gen 2, imo

Also, Christ will have a heat pump in his Second Coming.
  20. Fooling the truck about a trailer being attached so adaptive/Driver+ isn't disabled

Another reason to do to this is that trailer mode keeps the rear motor engaged at all times (I think) which really isn't necessary with smaller loads and eats into efficiency. My R1S DM could tow our 2000 pound SxS with just the front axle engaged.
