It affects efficiency (MPGe vs MPG), so I don't really see a difference. My I-Pace doesn't stay in sport mode when I restart the car for the same reason.
The vehicle "key in" settings must match the EPA certification conditions. That's why you have to manually disable start/stop engine settings in ICE vehicles every time you get in.
If the I-Pace would have been a lot more popular and relevant if it had been designed as a Land Rover. It's actually decently capable off road and would fit under the Velar/Evoque family.

I disagree on the subscription aspect of that statement. CP/AA bypasses their ability to charge for simple functions tied to their data plan, like streaming audio, satellite maps, live traffic, etc..
