Hmmm... This has me a bit worried. I'm scheduled for the Orlando SC on Jan 28th for my tonneu. It's supposed to be 24 - 48 hrs (that's what they said when I asked them), but now I'm worried that I might be without my truck for longer... Ordinarily, that would not be a big issue, but I'm planning...
Very cool video! Is this the Gen 2 or is it older footage from Gen 1? I wonder what they’ve done in assembly to try to reduce costs that might be visible in a video like this. They’re clearly using a lot of robotics, which is good
Just tried the Trip Visualizer for my FL -> WA trip and noticed these things.
I'm logged in on the Rivian site, so it really ought to know I own an R1T. I'm not some uber elite multi-Rivian owning guy (...yet), so there's only one Rivian I could possibly be looking to take on this trip - my...
I got that one on day one when I was driving home from Orlando.
I stopped at a burger joint to get some lunch and this kid working there was outside just coming off his break. He complimented me on the truck, then asked what it was. I told him it's a Rivian R1T, and literally the next thing he...
So you agree up to the point he happened to use AI to neatly summarize all the real sources he also supplied? If he'd based his whole argument on what AI summarized for him, you'd have a fair point perhaps - but he didn't do that, did he?
Those rates just seem like highway robbery - literally. An ICE truck can refuel for that much or less - at least I've been able to in the past in places like AZ and FL. I know it costs $$ to install and maintain DCFC stations, but at these rates, they must pay for themselves pretty quickly...
I bought my G1 in July of this year when I had the choice of G1 or G2 as a new vehicle. I'm very happy with my choice and feel I made the right decision for several reasons - one being that I had no illusions that I'd ever see anything like Tesla FSD on my truck. I'm OK with that. At the same...
Thanks for posting this!
Sounds like getting a 1-month membership may be a good idea before taking a longer road trip. I'm currently planning a cross-country trip where I'm pretty sure it's likely I'd be charging at Tesla SCs numerous times. I've used them only once so far, but that was without...
To me, the real question is why was the R1T's efficiency so low? Is 1.89 mi/kWh a realistic thing to expect in an R1T when it's not even freezing outside? Was there a headwind in both directions? I would not be surprised if the CT has a better coefficient of drag, but the CT's performance here...
Thanks, @JoeGun13. As I didn't watch the reveal, and as none of the pictures posted in this thread show opening more than the window, that would be what I'm talking about. So, I posted about what I saw. It's nice to know that the concept also includes the capability to open the whole lift gate...
I was gonna post about the resemblance to the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMC_Gremlin, but @Ostrichsak beat me to it. There are several style elements in the proptotype R3 that turn me off, one being the channeling of the ghost of the gremlin.
What about that awful hatch in the back that only...
How do you get a second torch? I mean other than getting one for free with each R1x you buy... Maybe if you're a two Rivian household - I know there are some...
Also, what's the use case that drives wanting to charge it outside the vehicle? I'd be a bit concerned that I left it at home on the...
Bummer about the flat! Hope your rim is fine.
If your tire is not repairable, then the option of replacing just one tire will depend on how much tread life is left on the others - just like any other car.
Given that we don't have run-flat tires on these vehicles, you might want to buy another...
For me, it's hands down the Back to the Future skin. The KITT skin is way to busy and has all sorts of weird error messages like the oil being over temp. This is an EV! What's wrong with 1.21 GW? Plus the BttF skin has a flux capacitor in the back.
I'll second the request to have these year-round.
It looks like maybe you just skimmed my post and didn't read it completely. The point has nothing to do with C+ subscribers getting updates first; it's about non-C+ features being available equally to all. I gave two different examples of how that could work, neither of which would require any...
The more I've considered it, the more I've concluded that it's just wrong to have time-limited features impacted by Connect+. Other than that, I don't have an issue with C+ subscribers getting updates sooner.
As they've pitched it, the reason for Connect+ costing what it does is the bandwidth...
