As @CommodoreAmiga points out, I don't think "Country of Origin" comes into play here. I think it's more of people clinging to their buggy whips as long as they can. That is, they don't like EV's, don't want an EV, and refuse to learn about EV's (Pro's and Con's.. and just stick to Con's).
One...
Yeah... I'm in the same boat (ba-dum-bump), I have 2 sea kayaks, one is 16 and a half feet long, the other is 14 and a half feet long. I very much doubt those cab mounted rails are far enough apart to give me enough space to secure the boats and not poo myself when I drive them down the freeway...
I think he is spot on, all three have an audience.
Like I said in the F150 vs R1T thread, I'd love the bigger bed, but this will be my daily driver. I need her to fit in my garage and in those smaller parking spaces around town and such, more then I will need the larger bed.
I think the trucks...
Yeah, I was noticing that as well. Could be two trucks, or the manufacturer plate was a "test drive" with the new owner (who may or may not work at Rivian and may or may not be a real person).
...do they have Dealer plates, I'm assuming not, and have to go with Manufacturer plates...
I'm not planning on any form of a credit/refund. It's kinda like Social Security, I'm pretty sure it will be gone/offer almost nothing by the time I could get anything out of it.
If it's there, "Woohooo!", but I'm not counting on it and not budgeting around it.
Way easier to fix messed up things on a vehicle when the person driving the vehicle can literally.. drive to the factory or engineering department and show them the issue and get it fixed (and documented), then having someone out in BFE that's 3 days from the nearest Service Center or facility...
I'm less worried about the range impact (your rim choice will have a vastly larger impact), and more on the payload impact.
I like the idea of the extra protection (Semper Paratus... best to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it), but I really need it for those hooks (to tie...
Agreed... the biggest knock against the F150 for me... the dealers and "dealership markup".
Looking at Mach-E's around here, it looks to be $5k-$12k ($7k is the norm it looks).
These "debates" crack me up.... the truck will arrive, when it arrives.
Unless you signed a contract with an explicit date of delivery on there... getting all bent out of shape over how many trucks Rivian produced today, tomorrow, yesterday, or next week does... nothing.
They will arrive, when...
Sooooo.... one thing I have not seen called out in this all is "dealer markup". Just a quick sniff around the Seattle area shows a $5-$17k "dealer markup" on Ford EV products.
That said, I'm somewhat in the same place as you as I'm debating between the two.
I've trending R1T personally. I was...
