I can't believe they missed adding a grab bar - every time I watch my passengers get in I could tell it would be useful.
They even thought to put it in the van, this truck really needs one.
Yeah I was surprised to see that from GMC. Rivian isn't going to be alone in extremely expensive repairs looking at that Denali.
They could probably save some expense just giving it a big rear bumper like most trucks, I think if someone rear ended my last pickup it would barely do any damage...
I've reported it to them - they just haven't gotten back to me yet with a real answer. I have no doubt something's wrong, but I have seen some others complain as well not just me.
In the past I've seen 1-2% which, while still quite wasteful wouldn't bother me so much. I think I'm a bit sour...
My phone also does that without burning 4kWh a day. There's actually no conceivable way I can use said phone (or my laptop even) that will take that much power in a day. 25% of my daily energy use is going to an unused vehicle in my garage, it's asinine.
If there's any 'battery management' that...
Frankly I'd be happy with it fixing the vampire drain. If it sits a month it will drain the whole pack with a 0 mile range. Don't have that problem with my Subaru...
+1 - frankly I'd love if they can just show us some of this info. Battery/motor temps or more detailed failure info if the truck says something is wrong.
RIght now users see things like regen not working or battery charge not maintaining high rate but no real indication of why, temps would be...
Not this one.
For something that's basically only maintainable by the OEM I'd expect they have some kind of service/warranty plan. Alternatively they could just sell the parts so we can get it done...
I had this problem consistently for the last couple weeks, losing 5-6% charge a day. I turn the climate off when I get out or it would have been worse. I was actually on vacation and had to have someone go to my house to plug it in so it wouldn't brick itself
For what it's worth it...
Yeah tried that - tried warming it up, tried even probing the contacts but I get nothing (so I think there's probably some other circuitry interfering in their battery case thing). The light comes on when I take it out, it's just extremely dim and therefore useless. I hope it's just the cell and...
Mine apparently doesn't anymore. I can see the LED light up but it's so dim it would be barely usable in a darkroom, it flashes as you turn it on which is maybe indicating it thinks it's super dead.
I don't know why - it's lived in the door this entire time, I tried letting it warm up, trying...
The EVSE is dead simple, it's doing basic communication with the car to let it know what power it can pull and then closing a relay. The car really controls the charging process so as long as it doesn't breach the limit the EVSE and car will be happy.
The only reason they're really used is...
Are you using an entirely different wheel set or having them swap the tires?
I always used to just have a different set of wheels because I could fling them on my car in an hour or less, but the wheel selection for these is iffy and the process is decidedly more annoying so I'm hoping I can...
For what it's worth, I tried the hard reset and it did not help anything. Still seeing 5-6% loss per day. I've reported this to service and am waiting to hear back from them.
Lord knows what it's doing because I spend less power running my AC in the summer than this does sitting in the garage...
Doesn't this count idle losses as well? My truck has drained almost a full battery in the last few weeks even though I've been away from home most of it so I have like 10 miles on 65% usage... This was new to me in the 39.3 update.
If you're actively driving more you might see better efficiency...
Recirc is more efficient but in cold climates it can lead to excess humidity in the cabin that fogs up the cold glass.
I haven't tried long cold trips yet but short ones in an EV are actually pretty nice, no waiting for heat and no worrying about babying my cold engine until the oil starts to flow.
My truck is draining about 5% per day sitting in a cool garage. It never really used to do this. I think they broke something with idle power use (if you're driving like 15-30mi a day this idle drain could have a large impact on your usage, as for me it's dropped 100 miles in a week.)...
Don't all air suspensions leak just a little bit? After sitting for a week I wouldn't be too surprised but it also wouldn't tremendously impact normal operation.
Overlanding community needs vehicles that they can repair and are reliable out in the field. So far I don't have high confidence for this one on that front.
Inflation still running wild and the R1 being realistically pretty competitive among the limited amount of EV trucks (especially at the...
I haven't had charge issues but on 39.3 it feels like vampire drain went up. I'm on vacation watching my truck drop 3-5% a day and previously it was more like 2%.
Edit: Just since last night (16 hours) I've seen it drop another 4%. Hope it's not completely dry by the time I get back, it's...
