I thought the same thing. I get the real world drop depending on your tires and how fast you drive. I put 65,000 miles on my first gen 1 quad T and never had the software say less than 311 miles even though I drive in Illinois winters. I would check my battery capacity. Drive it to near zero and...
Where are you getting YTD ix3 sales? It doesn't come out in USA until this summer (but out in europe?). I won't be able to decide on Lidar or no Lidar until finding out the monthly charge for the additional upgrades. The $50/mo for the current HF version is a non starter for me.
I don't see any review on youtube testing the range. Lots of driving on the press day with no mention of efficiency or stops at chargers to verify dcfc speeds & curve. I'm not saying they are lying. I'm saying nobody has extensively independently tested their range & efficiency claims. If you...
My point is until we get independent testing of the vehicles the claims don't mean much. I've owned three X5 (last one was a plug) and let's say lots of things they say don't happen. And if Rivian puts out a small vehicle that is less than 300 miles in RWD, AS tires, etc you aren't going very...
I think you have to take all range estimates with a grain of salt. BMW i3 has a 108 kw (useable) battery and claims it will achieve a 400 mile EPA range (3.7 mi/k). The i3 form is not THAT different from R2. I would guess claimed efficiency will be 3.5. Then subtract for tires, cold, AWD, etc...
I don't disagree with this, but better battery chemistry can't here soon enough. My Lexus TX (non hybrid) gets right at 300 miles on a tank. We always travel in it because of the ease & convenience of fill up. IMO, that is the difference. Sometimes you have to drive 5 miles (round trip) off your...
I was going to say this too. I use the Normal SC and they never have said anything. I hate the stock tires and removed them immediately (traded tire shop) for my Michelins. SC rotated them at least 4 times ($55....done this year).
Took crap on here because I use a light duty truck tire...
Interesting they brought it to market. Polaris made one also, but never went on sale (that I know of).
can you remove the battery to charge it? My farm is 15 miles from my L2 charger. As I recall the Polaris etv you could.
We'll find out soon enough, but my "inside sources" say employee deliveries in May. I live 45 mins from Normal and a couple of employees live in my subdivision. Doesn't make their information golden though. They are in software.
I've traveled with and owned both, and would highly recommend max. The extra 50-75 miles or so matter; especially in cold weather. I've never hatched a 10-80 dcfc charge, but never noticed any difference.
The pricing of this stuff will be interesting. I like the hands free driving, but it isn't worth $600/year. If it stops at traffic lights, etc then maybe, but even then I doubt it. I don't care for the hands free in traffic, and even glance away from the road and the warnings start.
Obviously it is a matter of opinion, but my father was an engineer for OMC (made Johnson & Evinrude boat motors and Lawn Boy mowers). They filed patent papers on a new motor and Honda copied it and sold it in their 125cc motorcycles before OMC could get their boat motor to market. Dad thought it...
People tend to buy what they can afford. If a Chinese company like BYD can deliver a decent quality, cheap car (assume it will be small) then that's fine with me. Not sure why people care so much about where a car is made. I'm old enough to remember import quotas, etc being placed on Japanese...
I've had all these issues randomly for years. Really annoying. Resets don't typically help. Rivian isn't good at delivering basic stuff sometimes. Forget the radio apps; I just want radio.
Full vehicle reboots. I drive 3-4,000 miles a month. Would still be on my 3rd truck, but they called me 9/28/2025 and wanted me trade with only 30,000 on my first Tri. Made a VERY high offer so I took it. Had to close 9/30 so they could make numbers. Live 40 miles from Normal.
Did you read my post. I've rebooted 6 times. Love Rivian; on my 4th R1T. This is first update since July 1, 2002 (when I got my first truck VIN 6900) that THIS many issues resulted.
Prior to the .46 update I was having almost no problems (except one occasional rattle) with my truck. Even the PAK worked. Since the update I've reset the vehicle 6 times. The reoccurring issues are:
1. Cabin thermostat doesn't control the temp. Heater just keeps pumping heat past the 71 degree...
