  1. Need 22" inch AS tire recommendations

Not going to argue with you. We have 6 pickup trucks (for our farm) and I work for the largest single pickup truck buyer in the USA. Lots of specs are appropriate for individual cases. You buy what suits you and I'll buy what suits me. I've been ripped off by more doctors than I have tire shops.
  2. Need 22" inch AS tire recommendations

I'm sorry. I checked with tire store & I bought the Michelin Agilis CrossClimate tire. I bought the "2" for our X5 a few weeks ago. Similar, but not quite identical tread and they were excellent. Same rubber compound as the 2.
  3. Need 22" inch AS tire recommendations

LOL... I traded it on a new Tri September 30th. I had just put the Michelins on around September 1 when I ran a piece of metal through the Pirelli sidewall. It was my 3rd set of them, but first two were on 20s.
  4. What’s the deal with the locks issues?

I've owned several R1Ts and my gen 1 had problems, but they also came with fob. If it bothers you just carry it and no issues. I had less of a problem on the gen 2 trucks. As a matter of fact this Tri PAK worked great. Update brought digital key and it also works. Obviously a price...
  5. Is it possible to swap a standard battery with a large pack?

Not making light of it, but your vehicle wasn't $100,000. It was 70-74,000. Not cheap, but a long ways from 100,000. You went cheap on the battery without doing research......not smart. Trade in value is probably 40,000....maybe. 🤷‍♂️
  6. 2025.46 Update (Release Notes). OTA pushing out now!

I have no phone key. Bluetooth won't connect & digital key button won't work either. So, well, Rivian🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄. I now have no phone key. Key card appears to work so I can get to work in the morning. Just.....GOD.
  7. Is it possible to swap a standard battery with a large pack?

I can't believe you paid almost $100,000 for a standard battery. I haven't seen near that vampire drain in my gen 1 quads or my Tri. I know most people don't like to do this, but when I lived 75 minutes from O'hare I used to take a limo to the airport, and have them meet me at the gate upon...
  8. R1T for R1S Even Swap?

Can only speak for my needs, but I would never choose the S over the T. Most functional vehicle I've ever owned. The gear tunnel alone (golf & lake stuff) is worth it. Use the bed for diesel fuel & farm stuff along with kayaks for our lake. Much easier to handle than a half ton and enough larger...
  9. Need 22" inch AS tire recommendations

I've put them on two R1Ts. Checked on them for this truck (22s AS) and they were available. Don't just check online. Go to a Plaza Tire or equivalent and ask. Most of those tires are price controlled anyway so you will pay the same money.
  10. Need 22" inch AS tire recommendations

Michelin CrossClimate2. I had 48,000 miles on the previous truck & still had 8-9/32. Quiet & 3 peak. I put them on our X5 too.
  11. Cold weather causing new issues?

Cold weather does funny things to these vehicles. Inconsistent & annoying are two best adjectives. The diagnostic capture just stays in the vehicle; not sent to Rivian. Make an appt, take pictures & videos of issues before going in. I've never had the diagnostic capture mean much at SC. BTW, I...
  12. Rivian in cold weather

If you are concerned with range don't get the 20inch stock Pirelli tires. In my experience they are bad for efficiency and worse in cold weather/snow. If you do end up with them immediately switch to the Michelin CrossClimate (my favorite) or Dueler (other's fav). The CC has excellent tread...
  13. Noisy! 30K on Michelin Defender LTX Platinums (275/65/R20)

Never understood why so many people pick those. I put 45,000 on my CrossClimate2 Michelins before I traded and they still had 8/32. Still quiet. Great tire. On my second T I traded the Pirelli's on a set immediately (got $125/tire) and again got great results.
  14. Phone key pet peeve.

If my phone goes to sleep the PAK rarely works. Not sure why Rivian can't figure it out though. The BMW phone key works perfect.
  15. Software updates that should be here by now.

Most of that list is of things I didn't know I needed...... at least until somebody told me. I continue to like the vehicle for my use case. Going to trade my wife's BMW X6 PHEV. Probably going regular hybrid. Looked at Palisade hybrid & Lexus TX 500h. The screen layouts & controls make Rivian...
  16. For those you upgraded from 1st to 2nd Gen

I put 100,000 miles total on two gen 1 quad R1T with a total combined efficiency of 2.17. I've put 39,000 miles on two Tri Max Ts with a combined efficiency of 2.51. That is 15.6 percent efficiency improvement. My current Tri is easily the best of the bunch; nothing rattles, etc (the quads were...
  17. Rivian R2 vs. Jeep Recon comparison review look from LA Auto Show 2025

I use Cars.com a lot, but that was worthless.
  18. Rivian trade in - expectations

Keep whatever has value to you (I've traded in 3 of them). What you include won't change the price. I even kept the spare on the first one. I told them and they said no problem.
  19. R1S Range Drop in Cold Weather

I'm 45 miles from Normal. Put 90,000 miles on two gen 1 quad Ts and now my second Tri gen 2 (total of 40,000 miles on them). My gen 2 trucks get better efficiency than my gen 1s by about 15 percent. I know if you don't precondition the efficiency really nosedives.
  20. R1S Range Drop in Cold Weather

When I pre-condition my Tri I've noticed the battery temp is only 55-60 degrees when finished. In my gen 1 quads it was 65-70 degrees. Suttle change, but curious. Many think the loss doesn't matter, but it depends on where you live and how far you drive. I think we lose a very similar percentage...
