  1. Continual suspension/alignment issues

Think what you want. Service tech told me that. You use your vehicle and I'll use mine.
  2. Continual suspension/alignment issues

Rivian has to wish they never used a suspension this complicated. I caught on early and almost never change the suspension from standard and NEVER use auto. I don't even use kneel when I park unless my 87 year old mom is riding with me.
  3. Alignment Issues - 2023 R1T

The alignment machine Normal uses is a Hunter brand. Supposedly other brands can't make the micro adjustments the R1s need. I know Plaza tire in Peoria has one and will align Rivians. You might ask you options what brand machine they have and whether it can make micro adjustments on a 4 wheel...
  4. R2 coming "Early 2026" says RJ in recent interview

I agree they need to nail R2 launch. Hopefully "high trim" that gets launched first has 350 mile plus range and better 10-80 charge speeds. We've got an early reservation & have bought 3 R1Ts so assume will get early VIN (good or bad?) if we want it.
  5. Reduced pricing on 2025 Tri-motor models in the Rivian Shop

People make this statement all the time forgetting that Rivian tried to raise the price on our gen 1 quads by over 20 percent before any were sold. Obviously the blowback caused them to honor the original pricing, but they were under no obligation to do so. We bought the originals 20 percent (or...
  6. Many Missing Prime Charging Stations in NAV

Don't switch to Plugshare. Some Tesla SC don't show up. Keeping up with the charger expansion is understandably difficult. Lots of the Circle K chargers don't show up on my Rivian either (Plugshare too).
  7. Is there a way to easily compare Level 3 charging costs?

The time of day thing is really popular. In Chicago suburbs I paid 27 cnts at 11pm. At 9 am two days later was 50 cents. Same charger.
  8. 1,000 mile trip in the Tri Motor

Charging speeds were better than I expected given the heat. I used Tesla SC and first time was at 11pm (27 cnts!) at 18 percent with pre conditioning. Was there 20 minutes at most and left with 78 percent. Other two charges were at 50 percent or so, but it holds higher speeds longer than QM did...
  9. 1,000 mile trip in the Tri Motor

As I've mentioned before this Tri Max is my third R1T. First two were both QM on 20s (VIN 7,000 & 15,000, demo). I took a 1,000 mile trip and continue to be impressed with the Tri efficiency (22 range wheel set up). In Illinois and it was brutally hot with 3 people & luggage along for the ride...
  10. Out of Spec Kyle takes factory delivery of cheapest R1S on sale

Kyle said adequate for "most people". Most people don't camp in the mountains and also don't tow with their SUV. 70 percent of pickup trucks never tow anything number would be higher in SUVs.
  11. R2 plant expansion at Normal is 'Substantially Complete' says Rivian

Normal plant capacity has been a shrinking number since they bought it. Mitsubishi built up to 175,000 vehicles there, but this is Rivian's second expansion and they are up to 215,000. I know every vehicle doesn't build the same, but I think Rivian slows down in an effort to help QC (on top of...
  12. Is everyone having A/C problems with the new update?

There are quite a few complaints in various other threads. So just trying to gauge it. I just had a temp. sensor go out on mine a month ago. It sucked and it took them over a week to fix it. I don't want to go through anemic A/C again in August. Just curious.....what were the symptoms of your...
  13. Rivian Q2 2025 Earnings Results

It isn't about subsidies. It is about sourcing rare earth minerals that are not produced domestically. Tariff policies change daily. Impossible to plan.
  14. Speedometer off

Unless something has changed (which it could have) odometer is based on tire rotations and based on tire circumference when new. So odometer is always off depending on tire wear. At least that is the way it used to be.
  15. Ford Skunkworks developing an EV Pickup....?

Electric trucks are a tough nut for US market. Real or not.....everyone with a truck thinks they need 250 miles of tow range on AT tires (in the winter). I love my R1T, but I understand I tow once a year. Have to have a huge battery to meet supposed needs.
  16. Mileage and battery life.

Interesting to me you mention the 450h. I've owned 3 of them and liked them all, but they never got EPA estimated mileage (neither did my Highlander hybrids). ALL electric/hybrid vehicles are better in city driving than ICE vehicles. ICE vehicles are better in the highway. I tracked gas mileage...
  17. Gen 2 R1S / R1T Turn Signal Recall: Turn Signal Inoperative

I tend to agree. For sure if the R2 launch/demand doesn't go well I look for a sale. The Scout silence is deafening (I have their EREV pickup ordered). I'm a long ways from a mechanical engineer, but I have a problem understanding how the erev set up can work with the energy needed to propel a...
  18. Gen 2 R1S / R1T Turn Signal Recall: Turn Signal Inoperative

That's what I was just going to ask. Anybody received notice to get their headlights fixed? I love paying for "premium" stuff and then have it not work for months on end (mine don't properly function). Supposedly a fix for the squeaky door handles is coming sooooon also. Mine sound like they...
  19. Check out the updated RAN map at the Rivian website!

According to Autoline Daily there now are over 100,000 charging locations in USA. Double what there was 3 years ago. Under 5 percent of the new ones used government subsidies. With Costco & Walmart ramping up their own branded chargers I would rather Rivian focus their capital on QC & becoming...
