  1. RJ Scaringe gets new pay package worth up to $4.6 billion

That's stupid. Income is income. Pay for employment us pay for employment. Not going to argue it. Been in accounting & finance for 40 years.
  2. RJ Scaringe gets new pay package worth up to $4.6 billion

The only way to stop these crazy comp packages is to address stock awards in the tax code. Could make the award and ultimate capital gain taxed as ordinary compensation (because it is) instead of capital gains. The tax handling of stock awards & options is ridiculous. Although admittedly I've...
  3. RJ Scaringe gets new pay package worth up to $4.6 billion

This is what I think too. RJ seems like a decent guy, but don't get fooled. All these people (Musk, Barra, Farley, etc) are ego maniacs. I didn't buy stock at the IPO because the power was completely controlled by him. The only one who could fire him was ..........him.
  4. Misalignment?

Something about these vehicles & alignment. I blame the suspensions, but obviously don't really know. When you go to a 3d party be sure you ask ahead if time if they have done a Rivian before. If not it will be even worse. On my previous T they blamed a tire sidewall being out of spec for it...
  5. 2024 Quad Motor vs. 2026 Dual

This is my experience & opinion also. Don't underestimate the better efficiency (range) with a new dual compared to a gen 1 quad. Don't let anybody tell you efficiency is the same in conserve; they're not. Overall fit & finish (less wind noise, few rattles, fewer trips to a service center) is...
  6. Proximity Locking 2025.38.0 at Home Issue

I've had all of these issues too. The software for daily/normal use has WAY too many bugs. My Roomy entry only works if I wake truck up BEFORE I open the door. I would feel differently if these features were cutting edge. They aren't.
  7. Stock price prediction upon release of the R2?

Just my opinion, but the stock is only at $14 because of R2. Unless they hit an R2 home run I don't see it going above $20. They don't have the infrastructure in place (service centers) to support huge R2 sales either. Plus they still have software issues that shouldn't happen. On my 4th R1T and...
  8. R1S nightmare and Lemon laws

I think you have a pretty weak case too. Build dates don't mean much in the auto industry. The squeaky door handles is a known problem and likely will be a future recall (mine does it), but it doesn't prevent me from opening the door. Not defending poor alignment, but I've had that one too...
  9. Proximity Locking 2025.38.0 at Home Issue

If it makes you feel any better I had the same issue. You have "lock and unlock" highlighted. Change it to off. I think the last update changed the presentation & makes it more difficult to see the "behavior at home" button. When you make the change your vehicle will stay unlocked when you are...
  10. Rivian to lay off 600+ workers / 4% workforce (Oct 23, 2025 report)

I'm not surprised. I live 45 minutes from the plant and know several who work there. I won't repeat what I have heard regarding weekly R1 purchases since subsidy ended, but suffice to say it isn't good. I am a little surprised by that because I thought well over half of sales wouldn't qualify...
  11. R1T Tri Max Pack Review by a non-adventurous car enthusiast

I ended up leasing mine despite the mileage limitation. At a minimum my truck will have 80,000 miles on it in three years. I was assured I would just owe the 30 cnts/mile over 45,000. Depreciation on these vehicles runs 40 cents (or more) so it is a bargain. That being said I'm likely to buy...
  12. R1T Tri Max Pack Review by a non-adventurous car enthusiast

I had this configuration on my last truck only with the 20 inch road tires (no off road package either) . They are much smoother than the 22s I have now (still a tri). I couldn't figure out why this truck wasn't as smooth riding as the other one until I just read your comment. More than just...
  13. Sometimes slower is faster, what I learned on our 2,600 mile trip

I'm on my 4th R1T. First two came with AT tires. Efficiency was so bad on the first one I immediately traded the tires out when I bought the second truck (was a demo so no other options). Unless you seriously off road frequently don't get that AT package. It adds weight and the tires are REALLY...
  14. Just fix the software

I'm now on my 4th R1T. I also have occasionally gotten frustrated with the software, but what I find interesting is the vehicles all had different bugs. My new one doesn't have any, yet. Even the PAK works......every time.....without getting the phone out of my pocket. On my first Tri Max it...
  15. 58k miles/ 34 issues!

I'm ashamed to admit I just bought my 4th R1T. I will say they keep getting better in regards to QC. I've had VINs 7000, 15000, 30000 and now 42000. First truck had 17 (35 issues) SC trips in 20 months over 61,500 miles. Not going to bore you with the gradual improvement stats, but if I still...
  16. 22" Inch HL275/ 50R22 116H XL Pirelli Scorpion MS good enough for light off (dirt) road use?

Obviously up to you, but I have been driving my AS Pirellis on dirt roads without a problem. I'm very much a Pirelli hater, but these have been a pleasant surprise. Exact same efficiency as the "range" 22s that were on my previous truck. I can't speak to rock climbing, etc, but dirt, mud...
  17. Michelin Defenders and warranty

Changing tire brands doesn't void any warranty.
  18. Driver side seat wear, 2022 R1T

My first R1T (2022) wore terrible. I was a little embarrassed when I traded it for a 2022 demo with a VIN number 8,000 higher. Had 63,000 miles when I traded. Kept the demo 28,000 miles before getting this tri (25,000 miles now). Neither of the last two vehicles show any wear. I remember...
  19. EV vs ICE - Most Comprehensive Study Ever Performed [report by American Chemical Society]

I've seen these studies before and inevitably they don't charge carbon for the oil/gas exploration, refining, transportation, etc. Like gas travels as easy as electricity does. All the gas station equipment & employee travel, pipelines produces no carbon 🤷‍♂️. All studies I have seen more fully...
