Yup, we just finished our loan paperwork today for delivery next week. Got 3.24 for 72mo.
Wish we could've taken deliver 3 months ago, because it also would've been a point lower.
For *FREE* @work charging, yes; It's going to be a common problem.
Especially with gas prices the way they are.
I work at a big company with tons and tons of chargers (but also tons and tons of BEVs and PHEVs) and have been charging a car at work since ~2013.
Every few months there's a new...
(Not OP, and don't have my R1T yet, but...)
I've towed 5,000 lbs exactly in my Model X 100D.
Even going uphill, into the Sierra Nevadas right near Tahoe where OP was, it still pulls ridiculously well. Even passing; No problem.
The R1T is comparatively so much more powerful at all speeds, I...
Was it a Canyon Red, 21" wheels, no underbody shield, that was gone by Saturday evening?
If so, I've had precisely the same experience on the same timeline as you up here in the Bay Area.
Took a guess inventory would go live at 8am PST here in NorCal, as that's Rivian's HQ's "morning start of business" time.
Guess was wrong.
Guess new inventory will be up "soon" instead
As someone entirely disappointed in the OPD of their Model X - constantly wishing for way more slowdown on regen - I'm happy to hear this.
Thanks for the report!
Before the announcement, they were still saying 2022 for Max Pack, and CS would concur.
As of the instant the announcement went out, no Max Packs were ever going to deliver before 2023.
It's "sudden" in that the company line changed the instant the email went out.
For the individual consumer, you're 100% right.
But let's be honest - Ford and Chevy are targeting their $40k variant at one market alone: Fleets.
And they might sell tons there.
Tesla's $40k goal is to generate buzz and then cancel due to lack of interest.
Ordered a second truck that will stay Max Pack.
Switching my first preorder to Large Pack.
Will sell that truck when the Max Pack is delivered.
Note: This plan doesn't correspond cleanly to any of the choices in your poll, so I didn't vote.
It's true. All of it.
- The 21" wheels with tires give the best range of all the options
- The 20" wheels with AT tires take up to a 15% range hit over the 21"s
- The 21" OEM tire is a custom tire for this truck, a size never-before seen.
Pirelli got to tell the world this last year...
(Comparing to my Max Pack reservation here)
If the electric Tacoma:
- Goes 400mi unladen
- Has quad motors, ~200hp each.
- Has an amazing cross linked air suspension
- Has a great frunk
- Can tow 10,000+lbs
... All while costing $50k-60k, compared to my $90k config...
Then I would jump ship...
And if you think the (current, as it exists today) supply chain would exist or be remotely functional without the stock market, I have a Rivian R1T to sell you.
Can't have one magical part of amazing capitalism without the other.
Knowing what I know now, I'd go back in time and preorder 3 trucks.
-One Max Pack to keep
-One LE to drive until the Max Pack arrives and then sell
-One LE to immediately flip.
To be quite honest pure capitalism is such a parasitic system.
Hate the game, not the player!
You haven't taken a look at either the new or used car market lately.
Take both general supply shortage and general high demand, add in "The hot new truck everyone loves and wants"... and I bet LEs are easily gonna flip for $10k-20k over MSRP, if not more.
Not next fall, but in March? April...
