Show Low, AZ should have an EA fast charger by spring if next year. I assumed it will be at Walmart, but that's not a guarantee. We tow our trailer to the destination, which is boondocking around 63 miles away. Mixture of highway driving and low in town speeds. I'll need all the range I can...
Sorry if this is also redundant, but can anyone speak to the charging speed from 80-100% in their current ev at a fast charger or supercharger? I have one use case where I know I will need to charge to 100% for my final leg, so we are curious as to how long it will take us to charge.
We camp about 30 minutes from the nearest electrical outlet with no cell services 3-4 times a year. The nearest charging site (expected spring 2022) will be around 65 miles away and 2500 lower elevation. Fingers crossed that I can make it there a d back with my Rivian and trailer!
I watched that this morning also. I am hoping that Rivian MPGe estimates align closer with how Ford gauges efficiency rather than Tesla. I think that's been said on this forum plenty of times before as well.
From their website;

The Rivian Adventure Network is reserved for Rivian owners, making it easy to pull up and plug in without touching a button.
For what it is worth, I did ask CS about the Bloomberg article in regards to it being delayed, and was told that they are definitely delivering this fall. Then again, they told us at the end of May that deliveries were delayed until July. So take it witha grain of salt. I am personally hoping...
Electrify America, in cooperation with APS, are installing fast chargers in Payson, Show Low, and Globe. Expected completion is spring 2022. Not sure if that changes your mind. We travel to our favorite camping location just south of Big Lake and that area was a concern for me also.
I reached out to customer service a moment ago and inquired about using a 14-50 plug on the wall charger. They said that it was not recommended. I assume that it would not be complicated to do so, but I would prefer to use the evse as recommended, so I will probably pass on the wall charger for...
I do feel that the portable evse would be sufficient for our needs. My wife's main concern was forgetting to put it in the vehicle before long trips, so for peace of mind we were planning on the Rivian Wall Charger. We'll probably just purchase a 14-50 evse and then upgrade to the wall charger...
I don't plan on living in my house much more than 24 months from now. How big of a deal would it be to move the wall charger after installation and converting the wires to a 14-50 outlet? I am think maybe best to purchase a different evse that can be plugged in. I currently have a 16amp 10-30...
Your plug looks to be a nema 10-50, whereas most new plugs, and specifically 50amp evse plugs are nema 14-50. I am not sure of anything different in the accepted amperage or volts. Hope they helps.
Reminds of the this past winter when I drove through a snow storm towing my trailer with my friend, who is from Florida. He seemed anxious and asked me if I was experienced with snow driving.....lol. I reminded him I have lived in Phoenix most of my life, and said not really, that's why I am...
