I realize this isn't answering your question, but did you consider selling it to Rivian as part exchange for your R1S ? While you may get offered less than you could get in a private sell, it reduces the tax burden of the new purchase.

@Kenmecca - does that stay powered on all the time, or does it power off when you lock / walk away ? I'm looking for a clean way to power my radar detector, but don't want it to drain while the vehicle isn't being used. thanks

Hmmm, this is a little disappointing if it's a common experience.. I drive I-70 all the time, will pick up my R1S tomorrow. I'll be heading to Leadville and back next week, so guess I'll find out. I'll post if I hit the same issue.

Once the supercharger network is available, that makes the extra cost for the max pack seem even greater for the limited additional KWH it buys. Many here have had teslas, and know that range anxiety isn't 'a thing' when you can use superchargers.
