  1. Emergency Jump starter powerful enough for dead Rivian 12v

Regarding the second option — isn’t the Rivian already monitoring the 12V charge and waking the vehicle to recharge it when needed? If that is failing the 12V may be too dead at that point anyway. I like option 1 or just carrying a spare charged 12V to swap I if needed.
  2. Would there be any issues keeping Ride Height at "Low" full time, while in AP

Auto mode is designed to go in Low for all highway trips so I am skeptical of claims that it’s bad for tires or the suspension. Anyway I second running boards as well as leaving it in low
  3. 20" Inch Quad MPK Poll: 60 mph and 60°F

This is a cool data-collecting effort. I would have expected a somewhat higher average at 60mph even on the 20" AT Pirellis. That wide range of values is interesting, I wonder why. Also, I'm not sure how much to trust the Rivian guess-o-meter graph or even the trip meter.
  4. Amber Foglight Mod Using Lamin-X Film

Just noting that the amber from the original post matches the little light over the front wheel well. I think it looks really good actually. Especially on green, but other colors too.
  5. Rivian’s New Color Palette for 2026~

R1 color tier list S tier: red, blue, yellow A tier: forest green … C tier: el cap granite, launch green D tier: dune beige F tier: shades of gray based on history, Rivian will advertise some top tier colors (witness r3x), then focus on selling gray.
  6. Update 2025.06 is out!

This sounds like how Bluetooth has always worked (very annoying).
  7. Milage battery range increase?

To clarify, I was not thinking of EPA range, but real-world highway range, and as I said only in places where chargers are ubiquitous. I generally agree with your points and as someone who does camping in the wilderness, range matters a lot to me (also vampire drain). (edit) That said, it seems...
  8. Vampire Drain Fix: How to solve in under a minute (indoor or outdoor)

Seems like the cheapest battery option might just be another car battery, which might have enough capacity to help make it through the night without waking the HV. And you have a spare if your 12V dies while camping for some reason.
  9. Milage battery range increase?

Tri is not getting 405 on the highway. 350 could be doable on efficient tires keeping the speed at 65-70mph. Quad should get the same as Tri. Anyway I agree that in places where chargers are ubiquitous, people worry way too much about range. If there is a good fast charger every 50 miles, then...
  10. Vampire Drain Fix: How to solve in under a minute (indoor or outdoor)

Awesome. For camping, could this charge a small battery during the day that keeps the 12V topped at night? Assuming no HVAC etc
  11. Update 2025.06 is out!

Anyone else, not connected to Wifi, not getting this update yet? Gen 1 R1S. This is one I actually want since my current tires are a different size than the vehicle thinks they are.
  12. 2025 R1S TriMax Ascend -- best car I've ever owned, except for the range.

You must be referring to highway speeds. I can get more miles than that in all purpose mode in my gen 1 large on ATs ... but I have to be going 55
  13. Can we start waving???

i usually honk, but it being Rivian nobody can hear me. seriously though, too many Rivians in colorado. I try to wave to all but may need to adopt a policy of only waving to fellow yellows. Sorry to the rest of the plebes
  14. Expected efficiency metrics - what’s the consensus?

General efficiency comments It's very hard to say because of so many potential factors. Driving speed. Air resistance is quadratic, so going 75mph gives almost twice at much air resistance as 55mph. Tires. For example, on your vehicle the All-Seasons are listed as 15% more range than the...
  15. Tire chains recommendations?

Thanks, good to know. Completely agree on ice versus snow. I ended up going with Peerless Auto-Trac which are chains and a bit bigger than the Super Z8 cables. But I have 33" winter tires, so I'm hoping the extra clearance will work with the chains (I've tested them at very low speeds, but not...
  16. Rivian headlights at night in snowstorm = zero visibility

Definitely not the most cost effective, but I went with Morimoto 2banger HXB Wide beam yellow lights, skookum grill mounts, and this wireless switch. They are definitely warm enough to melt snow and avoid snow buildup, and have been good in the snowy conditions I've been able to test them in. I...
  17. Rivian headlights at night in snowstorm = zero visibility

Sorry to hear people are still being put in dangerous situations by this. I installed fog lights on the grill for this reason. Plan is to use them and turn the Rivian lights down to "running lights" if necessary. It seems to me that the rear light brightness stays the same, although I actually...
  18. Rivian CFO: R2 production starts first half 2026; sourcing 95% complete; global sales (3/5/25 video)

Translation: video recordings of you, your home, your garage interior, and your children is regularly uploaded and stored by Rivian for their systems and employees to access at will…
