Looks like latest update was March 16
New behavior is that the phone must be placed in the tray, and it takes like 15 seconds for phone and car to sync. I am hitting the brake multiple times, "no key found", open my phone, open the Rivian app, still nothing, then a few seconds later the key...
TLDR - got fixed quickly, good service.
2025 R1S Dual Max with ~8,000 miles.
Jan 16 - noticed while driving that the A/C wasn't producing heat. On next drive, heat worked fine.
Jan 17 - no heat, and got error "Thermal system fault detected". Made a service request in the app, but soonest...
Similar issue, and I'll note that when I get in the car and it boots up, the radio works 100% of the time. When I hit the brake pedal, that's when the radio will turn itself off. Sometimes, it won't turn back on and I have to do a soft reset. Very frustrating.

Good analysis, and to paraphrase what said above and in the deck - if you've decided that you are going to buy the vehicle, I'm not sure why you wouldn't do the lease and immediate buyout.
@RivianPL to your earlier comment, I think when the phone is not sticking to the magnets, it is because the magnets are not aligned with the cut-outs on the underside of the tray. I was having the same issue, but if you push down on the mat, you can feel when it is not aligned correctly by...
Two positives so far for me:
Zoom near a turn is much better. I hated how MapBox zoomed in so close when you got 0.5 miles from a turn that it wasn't helpful to know much about the upcoming turn
Re-routing: if I chose to go a different way than MapBox suggested, it would constantly suggest...
1) Yes, when you get your lease (after you complete your Tasks and provide your down payment), it will have a fixed residual value
2) Yes, there are a number of threads on here about people who did buyout immediately (and some of the pro/con to doing so). My lease showed up on my Chase account...
I switched from a Model Y to an R1S in June. R2 vs MY is the right comparison, but for R1S:
Positives:
Much more space, more capable vehicle (leaving pavement), more comfortable ride
Interior is more refined
Range (I have Max = 410 mi. vs 330 mi in MY LR AWD
Negatives:
Tesla FSD is much much...
My experience was a little different...
My Tesla MY was wrapped. When I did the online trade-in quote, it highlights that the car is painted gray. I said Excellent condition. The quote I got was above Carmax, KBB, etc., and on top of that, there was a $3,000 trade-in bonus.
When I was in the...
This happened to me once. Called the local PD front desk, said I had dash cam of an accident on x and y. They took my phone # and the officer in charge of the investigation called me a couple hours later and then provided me an link to upload.
He asked me on the phone if one of the cars...
I drove 470 from Parker northeast past the airport then west to 36 to Boulder yesterday, and this was my first time trying out ADAS on this route. Very disappointing.
I was surprised at how little of the route was mapped for ADAS, and even on some sections where it was, there would be smaller...
Further to this point, I took delivery on June 20th, and on June 26th the lease showed up on my Chase account (I have an existing credit card). You can click through to get a buyout quote - this is a lot easier than I had experienced with prior leases, where they only way to get a buyout quote...
Just to throw out a random experience:
Took delivery of my Gen 2 R1S last week. Stereo sounds fine (coming from a Tesla Y).
Today, I was playing music from my phone and said "Hey Google, play song xyz".
It started to play the song and it sounded absolutely awful. Like the OP who started this...
Just another thought...
If you are driving and the Rivian is giving you audio directions like "in 500 ft, turn right" and you use the left wheel to scroll down, you'll be lowering the volume of directions, but that is separate from the volume of your music. I doubt that is your issue, but it...
I was also having this issue. I had purchased a Samsung Pro Endurance 256 GB micro SD card and an Acer card reader (and then an Anker card reader thinking that might be the problem). Rivian would not recognize that there was a storage device plugged in. As I saw on some other posts, I thought...
To add a solution:
I had setup the charging schedule at home, and as noted in my post above, the little pin was clearly over my house and the surrounding area.
I clicked on the little map, dragged the pin away, then back over my house. I hit 'save' and now the charging program works.
Same problem as OP.
Schedule is set for 11pm to 6am, and it has my location as my home (and the little pin marker is within the circle.
I plugged the car in and it is currently charging
