2 Year Anniversary R1S quick summary

Coming up on 2 yrs end of the mo.. My issues started on day 1.. had combined total of around 12 SC+mobile visits, and in all ~50+ issues resolved, but it was worth the ride, as I'm very happy now and cherish driving my R1S every day and looking for opportunities to run errands. My biggest gripe now is insurance premiums

Really good to hear that someone with issues was able to get everything resolved to their satisfaction.

Actually, bigger than my old Scion xB, too, even though that thing has way more room for activities than anyone who gets in it ever expects.

That’s awesome. Those Xb’s were cool little cars. Rarely see them though. Kinda weird

The original xB only got sold here from 2004-2006 so there never were that many of them, not nearly as many as the second generation. I had mine for 19 years and put 123,456 miles on it, hauling all sorts of stuff. My neighbor bought it from me so I still see it regularly, sometimes even out around town.

I’m coming from a Toyota Sienna. Now that thing has room. And it was a freakin great car to raise 3 kids in. Sliding doors, tons of space behind the 3rd two etc.

Wife got tired of the minivan. Wanted something different. Our Y has blown us away so we decided to go EV for a family hauler. The only thing that saves it is the frunk. Still nothing close to the space our Sienna had..

always wondered what people that say the Rivian is so spacious are comparing it to???

Lots of people have never owned a minivan. I am aware that there are vehicles with lots of space but compared to most SUVs on the market the Rivian is great with regards to space.

Of course, a minivan has more room. I could drive a box truck, and it would be roomier still, or get a semi and really be lounging. The Rivian does have a lot of room, IN ITS SEGMENT. Comparing it to a completely different style of vehicle room-wise is silly.

coming up to 2 years as well with our quad r1s wtih 34K miles. The vehicle only been to service center twice for panel alignments and sub woofer rattles and recall on reverse light? We will be there for the 3rd time this week for voluntary recall of the 12V replacement. We love it so much, and decide to get the r1T 6 months ago.

It's not far off from my 99 Suburban. It's shorter but interior wise it feels about as roomy but maybe not as wide inside.

I agree that putting it up against a van does not compare. Plus the sliding doors give you a perspective that it has more room with how long they open.

I am not holding my breath. Edison/Iselin was 2 years in the making then just disappeared. Trenton is fine as anything is better than driving to Brooklyn.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Woodbridge should be coming soon. There's been Rivian job postings for techs in Woodbridge. Seems like it'll be at 931 US Route 1 South, Iselin based on planning board approvals here and here.

Google street view shows this being a Sports Authority back in the day. It's about 30 mins away for me but it's on my list to drive by one of these days and see if there's any activity.

I know exactly where this is. Let's just get it opened already. I have a service appointment for my 2 year service in Trenton, took 40 days from me contacting them. This will only help.
