2022.7 OTA software is a BIG Update

I was getting worried. This is a deal breaker for me. I absolutely have to have the option of a trenta sized steaming hot coffee or mega-gulp sticky sugary drink flying around a truck that can go 0-60 in 3 sec. This is my attempt at sarcasm. I make it a point to not bring drinks in my cars. To each his own.

Honestly assumed dashcam functionality was more than year out, at least after the bulk of the pre-orders were delivered. Not that I have any conformation one way or another, but at the speed these OTAs have been pushed its certainly possible it will be sooner.

Anyone know what the onboard “hard drive” memory capacity is for gear guard videos as this could also be a factor with how long continuous dash cam videos could be until overwritten in a OTA? (Say, compared to Tesla’s Sentry).

gear guard only records to a USB drive, so logically any dashcam function would work the same.

Nope. Gear Guard has an internal HDD to record to. It can only export to USB for now.

Curious what the 'Rear Display is now available' update?

Isn't the rear display used for climate control for the rear passengers, if so, was this functionality not available till now or did they enable the rear display for additional functionality?

It had been non functional for some time, apparently.

Yep, that shows the 2018 design that is being used. Even in 2018, SSD would have been the better choice, but higher cost. Today the cost is negligible.

Just a guess, but I suspect it's an SSD and they just generically called it a hard drive.

Even with SSD, if you have it on a lot, it needs to be accessible and easily replaced by the owner with non proprietary drive.
