The rate difference between ICE and BV is likely due to the average msrp difference rather than something inherent in insuring evs. EVs cost more on average, it makes sense they cost more to insure.

I have Nationwide which I think also underwrites the official Rivian insurance. I got an email yesterday that my Rivian quote for this year went up 25% from last year. I have to call them....

Just got my policy renewal. State Farm in Oregon and my 6 month renewal is $12 lower than last term ($644 to $632).

Got my state farm quote this week.
Replacing my 2008 Mazda. With 2023 r1S.
Monthly $58 increase. Sounds reasonable/cheap to me!
