All because gen 2 got bug fixes/enhancements before your next update?
No, that's were you assumed incorrectly.

Perhaps you're not up to date on the history.
Rivian was going to forgo a lot of the features they promised (and some not) in Gen 1 in favor of Gen 2.
IE: Rivian was absolutely going to short change us Gen 1 owners.

Because of the Gen 1 owner's vocalness, we pushed Rivian to reconsider and included some updates for Gen 1. A few, but not all, concrete examples: launch mode and ambient lighting colors.

Hence why I advocated that Gen 1 owners will need to remain vocal. Else RIvian will drop our support to the minimal amount required to maintain their business. That's how businesses operate. Customer feedback.

How you ended up misconstruing what I said in your initial reply about making Gen 2 owners wait for Gen 1 updates... I'll never know how you connected those dots.

I don’t expect further “development” of the platform.
That's the part that sours me.

I had a 2017 RAM that had a 3G modem. Didn't last long as 3G was dropped. LTE was widely supported at the time and should have been included in the 17's instead. Bad business/tech decision.

I lost several features that I used. As did others. Their work around was a 4G OBDII module which only restored a subset of the features. That's not the truck I bought.

Now Rivian, not even a few years old, is outdated and will be in "maintenance" mode till it's EOL'd.
That's not sustainable cars. That's not eco-friendly. They need to do better and support a better module component system on the vehicle chassis, IMHO.

I understand a lot of the variables involved, and also realize there's a lot I don't know. Regardless, us Gen 1 owners have every right to feel wronged at various levels but can still remain in love with our trucks and Rivian as a company.
