It's highly unlikely there will ever be any Christmas specific jingles because not everyone is Christian and Rivian likely wants to avoid any perceived bias.

Jingle Bells might be a possibility as it is a seasonal song, not a Christmas song, even though we typically associate it with Christmas songs.
Did you not have your rivian last year? Pretty sure they're taking about the sleigh bells lock sound... not explicitly Christmas but associated enough to call them a Christmas sound.

It sounds like I might be the only one who likes the autonomy view. I like it because it helps me know what is happening around the vehicle without needing to check the side mirrors as often.

Before changing lanes, I always look at the side view mirrors. There is a nice yellow light to alert me of a vehicle in the blind spot. The Autonomy view is even better.

I can look at the display and then check my rear view mirror before even putting on the turn signal. Once I am past the vehicle the radar symbol fades away from the display and I can see it in the rear view mirror. I put on the signal and check the video from the camera to make sure it is clear, and then change lanes.

The problem is years of using the side mirrors and not fully trusting the Autonomy display. But along with the camera view it is more reliable then the side mirrors that have blind spots.

The camera has a wider field of view and easily picks up vehicles next to mine. The Autonomy view with the video cameras mean I never have to twist my head and take my eyes away from looking forward, where it is most important for me to be looking anyway.

The Autonomy view with this update is supposed to provide better visibility behind the truck and it will be even better than it is now. If I can only train myself to stop looking at the side mirrors.
Agree with it being useful IF you use it. I can't change my habit of using the mirrors and looking around as well, so I rarely use it except for fun when I see a ghost in the middle of the road or a cat walking a dog.

I agree it is hard to change old habits, but really it is safer to look at the Autonomy display and the camera view than it is to use the side mirrors. So I am trying...

Yes, I have had my Rivian for 2+ years. My comment was specifically based on what Rivian has done and not done in the past with respect to religious holiday sounds. I though that was pretty obvious.... Again, Jingle Bells is not a religous song and therefore is a safe play to be politically/religiously correct.

Can you ask your Rivian sources 2 questions regarding Gen 1...

- PTC V2 isn't compatible with November '22 to April' 23 models because they won't allow owners to have the necessary wire harness installed, can you ask when they'll allow us to add it so we can finally get the PTC.

- The cameras on the Gen1 front wheel well, what are they meant to be used for, because it seems Rivian never actually utilized them in any way.

Cheers Jose.
for your second question. It's for the off the shelf mobile-eye 3 setup that we have in gen1. but im not 100% sure because then why did they add camera pointing straight down under the mirrors that see the same thing?

Blindspots? I've been using this method for over 30 years, heard about it on Cartalk.

https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a15131074/how-to-adjust-your-mirrors-to-avoid-blind-spots/
I didn't see that article but I have also been doing that for years. Even that process creates a blind spot in the second or third lanes over. It works well for the next lane.

But it isn't necessary if you have a video camera that sees all the lanes. And turning your head to look at the side mirror takes your attention away from what is in front of your truck, barreling down the highway at 80 mph. Glancing down to the display just below the windscreen is much safer.

Need this update asap. My gen 2 R1T wouldn’t charge at home thus morning due to the known bug when the battery is too cold. Pretty annoying.

I think I am experiencing this issue now. Over the last couple of days it’s been in the single digits here. Garage is just above freezing tho. Thought I was loosing my mind.

regarding the main thread and ai anything. The only ai I want is for the vehicle to recognize that I’m in a double turn lane in the outside lane and not beep bc it thinks I’m going to run into the car to my left. That’s all I need their ai to do. Period.

I got this email last week….

We’ve identified an issue that prevents certain R1 vehicles from AC charging at home or with Level 2 chargers when in colder weather. A permanent fix for this issue will be available next week in an upcoming OTA update.

To charge at home or on a Level 2 charger before receiving the update:
Precondition your battery to at least 40°F (Energy app > Prepare for fast charging > Prepare battery).
To locate your vehicle’s battery temperature, go to Drive Modes then swipe left on the center display.
Perform a vehicle reset (hold Left Thumb Control of the steering wheel and Hazard Lights button for 15 seconds)
Plug in the charger.
If this doesn’t work, we recommend preconditioning your battery to a higher battery temperature and trying again.

DC fast charging is not affected, and you can find compatible fast chargers from your vehicle’s Center Display or in the Rivian app.
