22" inch tires recommendations?

Just installed the 119s Michelins as well; America's Tire (Discount Tire) would not install the 115 rated ones -- I don't blame them. However, they inflated to the factory PSI (50) - interesting notes above! Driving quite nicely compared to the stock Pirellis - got my 2nd flat in those and gave up at 13k miles.

After way too many hours researching 275/50r22 tires, the Michelin defender ltx m/s2 is the tire we’re choosing.
For anyone in snow country, TyreReviews shows how the ltx m/s2 compares to triple peak rate all terrain tires (it ranks second behind the trail terrain t/a) -

From what other owners have said, and the internet, the defender may also be an excellent non snow tire, and the 119 load range tire may provide optimal treadwear -

How much is the efficiency on these?

I've been running these since replacing my Pirelli OEM on my 22's for 5,000 miles as my summer tire and my efficiency is now 2.17 ... the stock Pirelli's which only lasted 15,000 miles was 2.24, so there's definitely an efficiency hit, (I'd say more to do with the weight of the tire perhaps). I'm biased to freeway driving at c. 75mph which is why my efficiency ratings may be lower than others have seen.

Very happy with this tire, still debating (based on this thread) whether to run them at 65psi. or the standard 50psi. I'm sticking with the 50psi until I need to tow. I suspect that lifting the PSI would improve the efficiency a little as well.

Seeing a likewise nominal drop on efficiency with the 119 ones. Also running ~50psi, going to experiment a bit more over the next few weeks.

Some other interesting stuff from the stats: 119s is 13 lbs heavier, but also 3/32" more tread and 0.5" wider. Quite noticeable for me as America's tire messed up and put three 119S and one 115H on our car, right after telling me how they couldn't install 115H tires on a 116 OEM spec... Glad they fixed it quickly.

Just installed the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 this morning. Discount tire did inflate to 65 psi. Now, the TPMS is not working so I need to go back, but that figure is according to the paperwork. I noticed the ride was a little bit better than the Pirellis.

Ride improvement over Pirelli's was first thing I noticed, less "tracking" and more center line holding to drivers intent. Smoother for me, which is weird as I think the harder compound and the bigger lugs/tread would provide the opposite effect. Ultimately for me, I would replace again with the Michelins. Interested to hear @Kachook what your impressions are at 65PSI ... that's really going to work the suspension IMO.

I took the delivery of my R1s last weekend and I can’t stress enough on the drive experience improvement from the model y I traded in. Vow just vow. I took the car with 20inch AS good year tires. The ride so far been buttery smooth even on the firm mode. I can noticeably see the difference in the feel from pirellis 20/22s. Glad Rivian changed the 20s from pirellis to Goodyear tires on the gen2s.

I’ll report back on how they compare to the Pirellis on the pothole-rich roads near me. I hope when you say that they’ll work the suspension that I’m now lowering their lifespan.

Fake news @josephponline ... my TPMS are working again and all four are at 51 PSI.
