Black 22" wheel option from trailbuiltoffroad — any chance that anyone has experience with these, or knowledge of whether they’d be able to take the weight etc. of the R1T? I currently have 21” Rivian wheels which I don’t love, and I need new tires anyway.

So, I’m trying to figure out if these might work with some all season tires, without having to modify anything, use spacers, etc. I really don’t know anything about wheels (and little about tires); any advice would be appreciated!

That link is for 22s. With the size of the brake caliper, it’s a guessing game if anything fits.
You would need some hub-centric rings (less than $20 on Amazon) at very least.

Thank you! I'm trying to avoid hub centric rings, solely because I don't know what I am doing or whether that may impact stability or be one more part to potentially break, etc.

I don't see a load rating in the specs. The offset is much lower than OE (wheel will be closer to outer fender lip) so you need to research if people are having rubbing issues with the same offset and tire. Some go as low as +18 but have rubbing issues in lower suspension settings... likely with larger diameter tires.

The fact that there's no load rating...even on the Manufacturer's website, would make me steer well clear of anything in this brand.

As for hub centric rings - don't be afraid of those, they basically make wheels of differing bores fit on a vehicle that doesn't have that bore....mainly large wheel bore fit small vehicle hub pilot.

Thank you! Sounds like not many options at the moment, other than directly from Rivian. Maybe I go one more set of the standard Pirelli's, and then try and branch out next year...

I know that you are looking at aftermarket 22s, BUT...I'm getting the 22s from the factory so I need a 20" off-road setup once I take delivery of my R1S (sometime s00n). I plan on getting the following 20" set...and they are from the same website. These have a load rating at 2,200lb per wheel. Here's the link: https://www.trailbuiltoffroad.com/b...tory-reproductions-fr70-20x9-25#review-system. Not sure if this site has a 22" equivalent like you are looking for. Also note, as stated by others, you will likely need hub centric rings for most aftermarket setups.

There's also a conversation about these wheels on the Rivian Stories forum: https://s00n.rivianstories.com/posts/27424783/comments/82113961?utm_source=manual. Scroll to the bottom of the thread and you'll see an installed pic of the 20" wheel as well.

Good luck in your search!

I have these wheels on my R1T, and you can find a full description of my setup if you search my posts on this forum. Someone mentioned that these wheels are out of stock, but I’m not sure.

Thank you -- I had seen your prior thread, and I know you mentioned rubbing on occasion. I will have to look again to see if you might have found a solution for that.

The real solution is don’t drive it in low or lowest, and then it never rubs. That works for me because I prefer standard/medium height. I’d like to grind off a few mm of every other knob on the front tires outside corner, because I think that might fix it. It only rubs when the suspension bottoms out, and I’ve yet to hear a rub while turning.

I'm short enough that kneel mode to exit matters, so I think this solution might not work for me...

I believe kneel mode is only applicable while parked and not moving...and as @dp351 noted, as long as you don't drive in the lowest settings, you should be ok. But only you know what's best for your needs. Good luck!
