Update - anyone that's in the same boat as I was should likely call Chase/Rivian again and file a complaint/escalate if necessary.
I just got my first statement in the mail today, dated on the 18th and mailed on the 19th. Guess when my due date was? The 20th. So Chase immediately put my account into a Past Due status. I've already filed a complaint at Chase and will be following up with Rivian shortly, but this is super frustrating even if it has no hit on my bureau or account until the past due status extends beyond 10 days. Someone dropped the ball here at Rivian's end and Chase screwed up in communicating a due date retroactively to a customer.
Controls need to be put in place to prevent this from happening to other customers, so hopefully all of our complaints can get this fixed for the future.
Edit: spoke to someone on the Rivian side - apparently some documentation issues caused delays in the first group of leases but this should be resolved going forward. At least I have an account now...
