Why would you ever experience "range anxiety" if you know how to achieve 3.6 mi/kwh on a 90 mile trip?

I experience it before the trip--that's why I'm driving like Grandpa. I frequent a few long stretches that have no DC fast chargers, and I often tow a trailer there.

I'm curious. What is the efficiency difference, ceteris paribus, between going 60 vs 80? Cheers.

It's simple math, all else being equal, with the force of wind resistance being directly proportional to the velocity squared. 60 squared is 3600, and 80 squared is 6400. 6400 is 78% higher than 3600.

My lifetime efficiency on 22s after 15,000 miles is 2.6mi/kwh, I sometimes wish I had 21s to see how much better it could be. I've used conserve mode twice for 2 road trips, 95% of miles is in all purpose mode

I'd love the option to change that to 30, 45, 60min intervals.

Also the other way, I'd take a 5 min interval so the vampire drain or initial acceleration doesn't tank my estimate for half of a 30 min drive

Yes, and it's especially bad cuz I don't charge daily, even after all the updates I still lose exactly 1kwh every 12 hours

Wow, that's a solid lifetime efficiency including VD. Mine is still unacceptably high too every 12 hours. I wish the lifetime had values with and without it so I could track both total energy used (should be used for EPA ratings, fuel comparisons, etc) and energy used while in motion so I'd know what to use in my head when planning drives and what could be achieved once they hopefully fix the drain. I digress...

Here is my best to date 4mi/kWh for 42 miles with 20” ATs. This was downhill from Mammoth to Bishop, CA. However my average since new is just a bit under 2mi/kWh. The lower photo shows the reality driving from LA to Mammoth at about 70 mph when possible.

I was once coming home to Denver from the mountains.

I had 152 miles of range at the top of Berthoud pass. I crossed I25 ~60 miles away and still had 151 miles of range left. Gotta love those downhills.

I just drove from my house west of Denver to glenwood springs stayed overnight did a hike milled around town and drove back 320miles round trip left with 100% got back with 5% used 120.5 kwh total
