3 quality issues now that it’s been almost a year

1) Spring on the real tailgate somehow got loose and no longer helps it closing. See picture

2) The dashboard seems to rattle at lot over ruff road like rumble strips at lower speeds like 20 mph.
3) Wireless charging pad has proved to be essentially non functional. Is it possible to get the Gen 2 update on the gen1 vehicles?

I removed the speaker grille from the dash(There are videos on YouTube that show how to do that) and put a bunch of Window-AC-Unit insulating foam(LINK) around the vent duct in the middle, and also put some on the top where it meets the grille.
Just put it wherever the grille comes in contact or you think it might come in contact with the plastic beneath it.
It puts pressure on the grille so it doesn't move at all. Solved the issue for me.

Gen2 wireless charging really isn't any better. I think people want to say it is, but it is not unfortunately.

You need this. Better than Gen 2.

Only 3? I’d say that’s great for a new company and first year vehicle.

Several vendors around here offer great 3rd party MagSafe replacement chargers. I recommend one of those. You’ll never think about it again and they just work.

Issue one is a 2 minute fix - there is zero reason that you’ve just not done it yourself.

It happened a couple times to me as my kids just DROP it every time. Here is how I fixed it six months ago. And it hasn’t popped off again yet since.

My rear spring detached as well. Was able to get it back easily with a pry bar. Been about 8 months and no issues since.

Have not had the dash issue- but Many fixes have been posted

I ordered the Adventure high tech stow n charge before I even got the car…. It has been great for my phones

Several vendors around here offer great 3rd party MagSafe replacement chargers. I recommend one of those. You’ll never think about it again and they just work.

I am not really complaining. I love my Rivian. I was not going to post anything but then I was going interested to hear what over people did.

Yes, works fine with my iPhone 15 Pro Max - great solution.

Ok. That was rather easy. I was able to pop it back in place with my hands with the tail gate nearly closed reaching over the top.

Issue 1 - got replaced by service and never happened again. Mine would come off no matter how many times I put it back.

issue 2 - got fixed by service probably similar fashion people mention here

Issue 3 - they put the new pad in my gen1 and it still sucks. There are aftermarket option is you really care about it.
