Just to clarify, I did not get a speeding ticket. My question was rhetorical, not literal.

I thought it was more amusing than anything else.

I think its an interesting question.

I'm all for taking responsibility and I would in this case despite the potential for confusion.

Where it gets interesting is with a more sophisticated driver assistance where it automatically adjusts the speed. So you could easily end up speeding without consciously realizing it.

Nope you're responsible, not the car. Just like in autopilot cases. BUT it doesn't hurt to try if you do get a ticket

I am glad they don't limit it to 85... (not admitting to anything in case there are LEOs here), because if someone was on a country road and let's say this person's family laughed at a Rivian R1T and also their brother works for Tesla and starts dumping on it.

Now, let's say this person asks his family members to take a ride on this country road and this person puts it in ALL PURPOSE mode punches it, and gets to 100mph within 7 seconds......I bet this person can verify that it scared the crap out of his family and this person's brother doesn't talk crap about the RIVIAN anymore.

Let's say this person then enabled driver+ with the intention of traveling 83mph in an 80mph zone but with updated snow tires the computers calculated an extra 3% of speed and stopped you because it registered over 85mph with the inaccurate speedo and d+ Vmax.
