Oof. I don’t think I have ever in my life seen a title for a car review that straight up says “don’t buy” :CWL:

Review: Don't buy the 2023 Vinfast VF 8 City Edition

In April of last year Green Car Reports went to Vietnam for an early preview of the Vinfast VF 8 prototype. After a quick spin on a test track, it was obvious the mid-size electric SUV needed some serious time in the oven before it might be fully ready for U.S. consumers.

After just over 365 days of additional baking, the knife still isn’t coming out clean.

Out Of Spec Kyle drove one at CES this year, he 100% recommended against purchasing it.

The day Tesla made their first price cuts this year it was game over for Vinfast in the USA.

I'm Vietnamese and I do not condone to y'all buying viet car products. Just an fyi. Don't ever trust a communist product....
China is communist, and they make some decent stuff. So much so that we need to start moving production of things back here because their industry is a legitimate threat to the USA.

I'm going to order one just to see how bad it is; I missed the chance for a new Yugo back in the day so here I go!

The Vinfast can only tow 3900 lbs, that's a deal killer for me!

The review didn’t mention its snow plowing ability 🤷‍♂️

I'm sure I can jerry-rig something. Just think of the youuutuuub content I can make!

Remember - the most important part of being a YouTuber is to drag each video out as long as possible and say outrageous things. So say each crazy thing very slowly.

"....Many of us in automotive journalism have even taken to saying there are no "bad" cars anymore, as even the least impressive cars on the market are all pretty decent nowadays. That's no longer true. The 2023 VinFast VF8 is nowhere near ready for public consumption, yet it's already being delivered to customers.... I've driven camouflaged prototypes that were far closer to production-ready than the in-production VF8.... The VF8, as it sits, is not ready for public consumption. Once word of these problems gets around, either from reviews like this one or owners or both, it's going to savage the company's reputation in America before anyone here has even heard of it."

I still have one of Andy Rubins Essential phones I can sell you... it should pair nicely with this Vinfast.

Emme Hall did a review for The Autopian that was similarly discouraging. Not sure I've seen a car this universally lampooned. Even the Aztec had redeeming qualities.

Now I really want to see Jeremy Clarkson driving one around an old Italian village.
