A2Z adapter doesn’t work with V4 Tesla SCs?

Just tried to charge at a new V4 in Alpine CA. No dice with the A2Z. Luckily had my free Tesla made one and worked instantly.

I just used one on a v4 this weekend. worked fine.

The adapters only have pass through connections so the charger wouldn't know which adapter is plugged in.

It works as long as you are at a Supercharger that is open to non-Teslas. Not all are and it's Tesla's decision.

It worked just fine the second I plugged in the Rivian supplied one. Weird for sure

Not weird at all. I bought one of the first typhoon pro's and it did not work on the V4 charger. It would work on the older V3. When I looked inside the tesla plug side and one of the thin pins looked a bit shorter than the other which might have caused a problem.
I messaged A2Z and they got back to me right away. They sent me a replacement right away and it has worked perfectly. You should do the same.

I’m not going to say no, but I tried two different chargers. I’ll take a harder look next time

My official Tesla adapter would not work on two different V3 chargers in Madera, CA but my A2Z connected just fine. I've used both at other Tesla chargers without issue.

There is an older version of the A2Z that was recalled.

It does. For the life of me, I couldn’t get it to release the ccs plug, so I gave up and just used my own adapter.

This is the most likely issue. A2Z had a known problem with some of the Typhoon Pro's. A short pin issue that only affected the V4 charging. Also happened to me and I was sent a replacement after contacting them. Had to send them a picture of the adaptor showing the pin connection set up. Replacement has worked perfectly ever since.

I have found the "official" Rivian adapter easier to use than the A2Z adapter. The way it locks to the NACS cable is better, IMHO. I keep both in the truck just in case. And I have the recalled A2Z adapter still, not sure what to do with that.
