The single biggest thing I've learned is that I would only ever buy an EV if I can charge at home (which I can). If I had to deal with public charging regularly - no way. Otherwise the whole experience is awesome and I'd never go back to driving an ICE vehicle.
Agree on having a charger at home important to EV ownership.

I have a 2022 R1T and haven't had any of those issues. Still have original 12V battery, tonneau cover never had an issue but Rivian upgraded it at no charge. I do have some weirdness going on with my compass heading not updating properly when switching between Wi-Fi and LTE.
How did you get Rivian to replace the cover? I have a 2022 also and haven't had any issues, but would like to get it replaced with the new version before my warranty runs out!

I was scheduled for a comprehensive inspection and mentioned in the ticket that I was eligible for the PTC upgrade from the original version. My upgrade was for the first iteration of upgrade and not the current version.

2022 R1T: 12V battery replaced under warranty around 30k miles, tonneau cover replaced under warranty as well (no longer an issue with newer models it seems). Rear shocks and clutch disconnect replaced under warranty last year (both leaking). Love the truck. Got a 2025 R1S last September on lease.

New gen PAAK works flawlessly with Android wallet.

Can't say you won't have any issues, but there are a lot of us out here who've had a good experience.
There's another point here I want to make. The overall experience is important. Rivian only makes 50k trucks a year. That's just a few days F150 production, so they're closer to boats than trucks in terms of manufacturing. Because of that, just like a boat, the service experience can make/break the ownership satisfaction result.

My truck has been a basket case of issues since new. Almost 31k miles in, and it's been in to service 10 times, about every 5k miles on average. By far and away the worst "reliability" I've ever experienced. To the point that I started the process to try and get the truck bought back last week. It's absurdly awful how many times it's been in the shop, and rarely for the same reason. Some issues still aren't addressed and likely will never be.

HOWEVER.........I'm likely the minority, AND the customer service is freaking phenomenal. Every single person I interact with apologizes for the problem, genuinely works to make it better, has great communication, and I can "feel" that they want the experience to be good for the customer. I've had other vehicles that needed extensive shop work through both my fault and the manufacturers, and I've never had experiences like this with the customer service team.

Beyond that, I really think mine is just a bad example, and the brand and product overall is very strong. There is a VERY good reason that Rivian has the highest customer satisfaction in the industry. While the product might not always be perfect, it's damn good when it is, and they honestly work hard to ensure the customer is happy with it.
