Thank you for this information. I will certainly do more research. I just went to the Michelin website and looked up the first tire you listed. It does say "EV Ready". Does this mean EV compatible? Is there any fine print excluding the 70000 warranty for EVs as opposed to ICE? On the Michelin configurator, there doesn't appear to be a 21" option, but there is for 20 and 22s.

Continental offers TerrainContact A/T (trail tire) and H/T (highway tire) in 22” variant, with both offering a 70k mile warranty.

I have the H/T variant being installed on Tuesday. Will report back with initial feedback/findings.

I’m in the same boat as OP; OEM tires completely worn out with cords showing on one tire at 8500 miles.
Did you get your tires installed yesterday? If so, Initial impressions? I’m going back and forth with the Michelins and Continentals.

I just got my TerrainContact HT's but won't be putting them on until the Spring and will be installing Michelin X-Ice for the winter - sorry I couldn't be more help.

EV Ready I believe in Michelin's view is the rubber they use the make the tires which is "tougher" to handle EV demands. You don't have to get a tire that is "EV Ready" for your EV/Rivian.

The 21" option is rumored to come out July 2024.

I am unaware of ANY fine print on ANY tire that says if you use tire on EV, they will not honor the warranty.

I am far away from any tire expert, just have done a lot of market research and read a lot on the forums to stay educated.

The Michelin - Defender LTX M/S2 and X LT A/S 2 that are "EV Compatible" and with a load index of 116, it's almost like they redesigned it to meet Rivian specs.
I don't think these are out until the spring, correct?

I put the E1 Michelin tires on mine in the 22's. Ride quality is still good and they are a beefy tire. Will most likely last a good and long time.

I ordered General grabber hrs 60 tires about to get them installed Saturday.. they are on the cheaper side( got them for $200 each) it doesn’t say anywhere about ev rating but I do know that these are factory tires for f150 lightning. My reasoning is I can change twice instead of OEM tires

They are out for 20" (have not check on 22" size) for 275/60/20 and 65/20 size. I also saw the LTX Platinum in 65/20 is out at CostCo. If you search I believe some folks have already posted pictures of the Defender 2 on their Rivians.

Figure if Costco has them, then a lot of other vendors should too.

The rumored 21" is NOT out.

They are not "EV rated/compatible". They are OEM on my Silverado and have been great tires all-season.

Half the miles on the Silverado have been pulling a 7,000 pound toy hauler and surprised at how well the tread is holding up.

I had my days mixed up. Mobile Service was yesterday (Tuesday) and tires/alignment is happening today. I'll have initial reports updated to this thread in a few days.

Do you notice any changes in how the vehicle/ steering feels? What about the overall range? Any significant decrease in range?

Hi. Our r1s has 7700 miles with the 22 inch wheels. I was just told our tires are at 6/32 front and 5 /32 rear and will need replacement soon. That seems hard to believe with only 7700 miles. What measurement are people replacing their 22jn tires? And how many miles are you getting? Ours were rotated recently at the Rivian service center and no mention was made of them needing replacement.
What tires are people replacing the factory 22 inch with? I normally would just order the oem, but was told that they have no tread life warranty so in this case I’m thinking of ordering the Michelins that have a 50k tread wear warranty.

advise please on all of the above and thanks
The wear indicator is at 2/32nd.

Sounds like someone is trying to sell you new tires before you need them.

I would not do it if that recommendation was given to me.
