My R1S Max Dual Performance ordered almost 2 years ago delivered this week and only delivery issue I've found so far is that the yellow Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) indicator comes on above 5 miles per hour and then goes off again below 6 miles per hour. This seems to then cause the Driver + adaptive cruise control to not work as every time I try to use it get a message that it's not available. I have version 46.0 installed and no updates showing as pending.

Curious if anyone has had this issue and solved it? Rivian service super nice on the phone and since a restart didn't solve it, I have a mobile service visit scheduled now for early February. Wondering if anything I can solve on my own based on experience of others in the forum. So far I checked the front three sensors and they are clean and also removed the Rivian front license plate plastic bracket (two rivets in center of front bumper) just to make sure that wasn't causing camera to think something there.

I'm a heavy user of cruise control so missing it working but otherwise love the vehicle so far. Wish it had a standard cruise control option as well that wasn't dependent on the sensors.

I think most likely this is a defect that you will need Rivian to fix.

However, is there any chance you have it in towing mode? Towing mode will disable driver+.

Thanks, It's in All Purpose Mode and nothing plugged into the trailer electrical connector (though I didn't remove the plastic cover to check since is new . . .)

I'm considering though plugging an accessory into the socket to see if I can engage Manual Cruise Control mode which appears to only be available with a trailer . . .

Also, lane keeping assist seems to be working fine so just the AEB/ACC that isn't . . . and if I read the owner's manual correctly that wouldn't happen if in trailer mode . . . thanks for the suggestion though! Any other ideas appreciated for sure . . .

I have driven both new and older BMWs for years and found that nearly any issue I had could be solved via the forums . . . hope that Rivian forums become a similar resource for problem solving.

Call and ask the service to diagnose your car's FCM's faults remotely before their service visit.

UPDATE with good news: My issue with the yellow automatic emergency brake light on and Driver + not working (along with mirrors not holding their position) was resolved with an OTA update pushed to me by mobile service manager, David, and a hard reset (left steering wheel button and hazard switch procedure). Canceled my upcoming mobile service appointment since everything resolved remotely. Very good experience!
