Amazon music after Alexa is discontinued on August 4?

This may have been covered already but a quick "amazon music" search did not yield an answer for me.

I got an email today from Rivian stating Alexa would be discontinued on August 4th.

I have not switched to Rivian Assistant due losing the ability to ask alexa to stream a song or music as my 6 year old loves my truck since she can ask for her music when we go to daycamp each day. "alexa, play kpop demon hunters, play mermaid party, play ninja kidz" etc.

Now that I will have no choice on August 4th, is there a new way to stream from amazon music? I do not have spotify or tune in accounts etc. I do have amazon prime with amazon music.

Hopefully it's not going to be only "pair your phone and ask it"

I too have this concern, after trying the Rivian Assistant, I found that I preferred the Amazon Music more than the features from the Rivian Assistant and switched back to Alexa.

They shouldn't force us to the Rivian Assistant until they figure out how to support Amazon Music first.

I have not seen this. Very disappointed. On all of our Rivian's we use Alexa voice commands for music and disabled Rivian Assistant. Odd considering Amazon's investment in the company.

I responded direct to the email with these same concerns. No idea if I will get a response, but I signed up for Amazon Music Unlimited shortly after getting my R1 back in 2022 and since then my kids have become very used to using it at home as well. Losing it on my truck would be painful as it is the only music service I use in the truck and I have spent a lot of time creating playlists.

We are in the same boat on both of our R1's. Both of us utilize the Alexa command with music, multiple times a day for the past 4 1/2 years. I am not interested in a work-around, sync to my phone, blah blah blah. I'm spoiled by simply getting in the vehicle and speaking.....1st World Problem

Interesting. I did not get a like email and I listen to Amazon Music via Alexa. And because of that have Rivian Assistant turned off.
And some conversation with Wassym saying it is coming does not resolve the current issue. They have already had years to create an true Amazon Music app.

We all know how long 'soon' is to Rivian!

It wasn't perfect but it worked reliably and played me what I wanted, when I wanted it, which is all I can really ask for.
