Most pro EV states are not considering these EV taxes, nor is the federal government. Only states that want to put themselves at odds with what they consider "green" tech. It's part of a culture war to them.

WA is very pro-EV, but has been charging a yearly fee $150.00 to deal with the lack of gas tax from EVs. Hey, I like well maintained roads and don't mind helping to pay for them...

Washington has two seasons, btw: rain and road construction...

FYI. You can renew up to 90 days in advance. So if you want to up your registration prior to 9/1 you can do that even if you registration doesn’t expire until November.

Did my first inspection today, and was expecting lots of questions but the guy did a great job. The only thing he couldn't figure out was where the odometer was for mileage. His first Rivian. My registration is due Sept but paid today to avoid the $200 fee.

I just missed this ability...with a November expiration, I cannot renew until after Sept 1
