I'm in the middle of the steps to get my R1T and am setting up charging stations.
I've got an Autel 48 amp charger getting wired at my main charging location - my shop.
I'm planning on a 2nd charger setup at my house that won't be used frequently. Thinking I have it to top off the truck from 80% to 100% the night before a larger trip. OR get some extra mileage after I return from a trip so I don't have to drive to my shop 20 miles away. I could just get the same charger as I have enough amperage and proper wire size (to the sub panel) to do it. Part of me is thinking I should save a $1-200 bucks (plus wire gauge) and only put a 40 amp "Dumb" charger, like a Grizzl E in there. The other part says to just forego that and install the same charger in case for some reason I ever need more juice at home. Pretty sure I know what everyone will say there...
I guess my real question is, if I decide on the former, is there anything I am missing out on by not having a smart charger at home? Won't the truck app let me pretty much do whatever I want to do with the Riv app in terms of scheduling, % top off, etc? Are there other features the Autel app has that the Riv doesn't?

This is a good value for 399, gives lots of options for speed, can plug in or hardwire. You can check out the review on state of charge.

Appreciate that. I'm using the Autel because it has the RFID locking option. The one at my shop will be accessible to anyone driving by.
