This time, between Vantage, WA and Ellensburg, the nav. tried to route me off I-90 onto a small, rural road network for dozens of miles, and then did it once more. There was nothing wrong with I-90 according to Google Maps (which is my primary mode of navigation on the Rivian) so I ignored these repeated requests to lengthen my journey and stayed on I-90. Indeed, it turns out that the road was perfectly fine, with no evidence of past accidents, and almost no traffic.

.....

Is there an easy way to report these to Rivian directly? Mine range from the weird (it keeps trying to make me divert through a close weigh station on 495 between the Cape and Marlborough, MA) to the potentially very disruptive (on the Mass Pike between 128 and Logan Airport, it tries to send me through Newton on city streets, adding 20+ minutes and a number of miles). It's not due to charge levels in either case, because plenty of charge to end the route at 50% plus charge. Clearly on the Mass Pike diversion, it thinks something is closed ahead. This has happened on 3 occasions, over a span of weeks, so it also wasn't just temporary data out of date.
I suppose I can try to open a service ticket, but seems there should be some sort of "bug fix" website to report to.

Whole-heartedly agree that we need AA and ACP. My point was if you contact Rivian to complain about the map messing up like in the OP, they send you to Mapbox.
I have provided two feedback issues to Mapbox, but I don't really want to be a beta tester for them. After about a month, they have fixed one of the issues, it is likely I will never know if they fixed the other one, since it was on a trip far from home.

Just venting. I've had my car for about a month. The Mapbox data is pretty much garbage. Twice out of about 15 trips it's taken me to the middle of nowhere or to a dead end close to my destination. Also, there must not be enough people using mapbox because it's traffic data is really bad. I'm moving from driving a Tesla for many years and navigation is no comparison. The Mercedes navigation using CD's from 15 years ago was better at getting me where I needed to be. I'm hoping that Mapbox steps up and starts working better or that Rivian ditches them and partners with someone else.

I know machine learning works increasingly better over time and needs input data, so possibly it can improve quickly. When autopilot first released to the public two years ago, it drove like a drunken toddler and it's pretty good now, so holding out hope....

I feel like Mapbox snookered Rivian into believing its claims, and now Rivian is just trying to ignore the fact that they were hoodwinked. I’m not sure Rivian shares their data with Mapbox but I don’t think there are enough Rivians on the road for it to matter. There are billions of phones but only thousands of Rivians, and road and traffic conditions can change pretty quickly, sometimes…

Couple of comments. One, I bought a Rivian, I didn’t buy a Mapbox. So, if there are issues with the Nav, it’s up to Rivian to get it resolved. I have no business relationship with MapBox.

Two, value of Rivian, around 18 billion. Value of Apple, approximately 2.8 trillion.

Three, Software engineers at Apple, approximately 12,000. TOTAL employees of Rivian, approximately 9 thousand.

There is no way that Rivian can develop software and remediate issues as fast as Apple. And I’m not even adding Google into the equation.

RJ Scaringe is obviously a smart man. You don’t get into MIT unless you’re at the top percentile of the IQ scale.

I enjoy my Rivian R1T. I think it’s a really nice vehicle.

But Rivian needs to seriously reconsider some of its decisions.
