I made an appointment at the Mpls. SC in early December to have a few things done on my R1S. At 16K miles it’s time for another tire rotation, but the biggie was that the cameras had all gone down, and the vehicle was (still) confusing me with my wife and randomly changing our cabin settings. Anywhoo, the wait was three weeks and while that’s not ideal, I know lots of folks around the country have had much, much longer waits to get service.
Brought it in, dropped it off and within a day they had info. It was NOT software as I predicted, it was a %/);$&#$&!! mouse that had set up housekeeping and chewed through a wiring harness. Freakin’ hell, I hate mice.

The team had already remotely run diagnostics and proactively ordered said harness in advance, so they got that done quickly, rotated the tires, and then re-set the system and waited for us to come in with phones to check their work. I think that part is fixed now too.

Icing on the cake was that at the end of my visit, they did some fast paint touch-up, gratis, on a few scratches I inflicted in my garage. Looks really great and they banged it out in about 15 minutes. Awesome!

Charlie and Travis and the team there continue to distinguish themselves and for that I feel lucky that we live where we do…in spite of the insanely high taxes we pay here. But that’s a subject for another day.

Minnesota doesn’t allow Rivian to lease, so shop wait times are perhaps shorter here, compared to other locations where they’re delivering more vehicles. Rivian is lucky to have this crew running a Service Center.

Yea I wish they allowed leasing here. But I also really liked every time I've had to work with the Mpls SC. They're great.

Oddly enough, even though they made some serious mistakes on my Rivian, the MN staff has been great to me.

When I had my very first visit for them to clean up some lose trim, they forgot to connect both the rear washer fluid lines, and the air compressor line. Both caused issues, but they fixed them immediately. I had our lovely pink washer fluid running all over the place in the headliner from the lose connection lol.

We live 150 miles from the Minneapolis service center. They always get us in and out in a few hours. It has always been accommodating and sometimes gets us in with short notice for tire rotations. They are awesome!

Do you know why leasing is not set up for Minnesota? I want to lease & have pressed sales for answers on when, but can’t get anywhere. I checked with the State, they have no application from Rivian.

No idea. The SC made it sound like the state isn't allowing it currently. But I'm not certain.

Since we are bragging about SC's, I want to send a shout out to the West Sacramento SC. When the last OTA on the R1T came in, all of a sudden we were getting a "tailgate" sensor error. It was telling us that the tailgate was down, but it wasn't.

I went to the app and put a service request in. They called the next day and within 2 weeks we had the mobile service tech come out...Kevin. He has been out before for other things...nothing major. Hats off to him....it was raining and he replaced the sensor, did a all points inspection, checked the tire wear and said we have about 10,000 more miles on the original tires.....and we are at 29,500 miles on them.

We have a RAV4 Prime and no way would they ever send a mobile tech out.

I 2nd the praise for the MN service center. In my case I guess I should say delivery center because I've picked up 2 vehicles but have rarely had service issues beyond the early days suspension bolt torquing where they met me in the parking lot, did their work, and I was on my way in a couple minutes.

I also 2nd the scorn heaped on mice. I too. hate the little critters.
