Can you please explain, “vibe with his ethos”?
Oh, RJ’s just out here like, "Gas? Nah, not in my vibe!" ? He’s all about the electric future, no hybrid or gas hybrid nonsense. He’s not here for any halfway house—he’s like, “Full electric or nothing!” ?⚡ He sees a world where our rides are as clean as our conscience, and frankly, he’s got zero time for gas-powered detours. That’s his ethos! ??

YMMV

Hot take here - IMHO plug in hybrids are the worst of both worlds. Trash electric range, worse efficiency, you have to deal with charging, you have to fill up with gas, AND you have to deal with ICE maintenance. To me it makes way more sense to get a full EV or full ICE.
Hmmm. Folks with plug in hybrids would probably disagree. Plus, OP is talking about a range extender, which is not an ICE propulsion mechanism.

I have a R1T with about 50K on it. I absolutely love my truck but the minimal range of under 300 miles has been quite limiting on fly fishing trips through Wyoming & Montana. I kept my old 4Runner for these long distant trips with little access to chargers. I just put a deposit on a Scout that will have this option. But the Rivian really is my perfect vehicle except for the range issue. Is the any info out there on whether Rivian might consider this option in the future??
Da f***?

What part of sustainable electric transport did you miss?

Are you a moron in real life or just behind your keyboard? Go away.
Both Chief. But to suggest that a company that's hung their hat on an all-electric drivetrain since day 1 should throw a Honda generator into the frunk is beyond moronic. The hybrid Dodge Ram is waiting for you....

I'm personally/professionally rooting for hydrogen fuel cell hybrids for heavy vehicles/loads and long range adventures at some future state R5T anyone?) I actually had a preorder for a Nikola Badger in 2021 (the project that sent the former CEO to prison for fraud). With new leadership Nikola is actually demonstrating very limited commercial success with class8 freight haulers in the southwest US.
BIG problem is the near total lack of [publicly acessible] refueling infrastructure.
