Also I'm a bit philosophical because after I spent months obsessing on these details and being so angry, I was driving on the freeway and this moron in his $105,000 BMW merged straight into the side of my car and dented both the doors. It got fixed but I had to battle his insurance and eat some costs to have it done right. I took it as a sign from above that I was being a bit overboard and that the Universe will throw you curve balls. If you can take a deep breath, plan a fun trip with your truck, watch as people ask you about it and take pics and smile at you - you'll be on your way to being a happy Rivian guy! Best of luck :)
Hey thanks love the optimistic and glass half view look, believe me that’s my way of life. But after a poor delivery experience I got another on my second vehicle with even more noticeable gaps in areas like the front bumper. My wife is very easy going so I took her along to see if I was being too critical and she herself said that she was amazed at how bad the condition of the car was to be selling it as a new vehicle. Now maybe I have bad luck or just maybe they wanted to get rid of me (pre price hike buyer) but the whole thing felt odd. So I figured if delivery is this bad who the heck knows how bad service will be. Didn’t want to stick around to find out to be honest.

This was nothing like my experience in the Richmond VA SC. It was fast, painless and the truck was perfect. Water spots I wouldn't care about. Scratches and panel gaps I would make them fix.
Correct but why take delivery of a vehicle in that condition and then have to wait for them to fix it. It’s their responsibility. Essentially you’re buying a vehicle with defects hoping they will fix it properly. It’s pretty they’re trying to hit their quota at the plant as the QC I witnessed was the worst I’ve ever seen.

I got delivery at the Costa Mesa center yesterday. The vehicle was dirty inside. There were some dark smudges on the interior. When we pointed it out, the delivery person gave us some Lysol wipes and had us wipe it down ourselves. There were also a ton of dried leaves inside the vehicle. What made it annoying was that it was stuck internally the window area so when the windows are rolled down, it’s stuck in the crevice. Dried leaves were also inside the window buttons which are impossible to remove. They didn’t install the cross bars for us since they said it was a liability issue so the owners have to install it themselves. Since we felt rushed, we didn’t get enough time to properly inspect the entire vehicle.

We were the last appointment and 45 minutes really isn’t enough to inspect everything. Today, less than 20 hours after the vehicle was delivered, we discovered a small dent in the vehicle. The service center is close on Sunday. I contacted the service center to let them know about the dent. It was less than a great delivery experience. From feeling rushed, to a dirty car, to the small damage, I really hope that Rivian does the right thing and fix the dent. I don’t know what the policy is once you leave the service center.

Any other owners find dents after the vehicle went home? If so, did Rivian fix it?

Oh man that’s super annoying to deal with sorry to hear that. They should make it right for you since you just realized it and immediately reported it. I hope it all works out for you. I canceled my order didn’t want to experience Rivian service. I imagine next year when the demand dies off they’ll be in a world of hurt trying to sell their vehicles once people catch on.
